    What happened to BJmath?

Every once in awhile I come across a thread in the old bj info forums and find a much needed link to something very illuminating. However it ends up being a bjmath.com link and these days all those redirect to some shitty website w/ no real content for the card counter.

I just figured out how I can access that content (use the Way Back Machine), but I'm still curious.
What happened to that website? It seemed to be one of the big BJ websites and now it's no longer. The story probably isn't as interesting as I hope it to be, but if anyone knows I wouldn't mind reading it.

Also, ditto w/ blackjackinfo.com, everything shut down after 2011

    Thanks

Richard sold bjmath long ago to an online casino portal. Hard to make money in that field these days -- so those sites tend to disappear.

Blackjackinfo.com is still open; just forum is closed. Ken Smith is still around. Been on GWAE Radio not that long ago.

You're right. I was being a little careless with my wording.
I understand having to sell a website, but if you still own the website, why not keep the forum going?

Ask Sonny who was the moderator of Blackjackinfo. He is still around here, posting sometimes.

The answer is that Sonny was tired of the trolls. In the near end of that forum, he constantly complained that he spent so much time on chasing out the trolls.

I heard some wild rumors that some of these trolls were interfering with Ken and other people's playing careers.

Yes, wild is sometimes not so wild. The same people are now falsely claiming that he works for casinos, on another site.

At times, APs can be their own worst enemies. The casinos must love it.

Look in the mirror. He probably had some delusional/political posters in mind. Kind of like some things you have posted about on this board. Ebola and etc....

Still don't know why I can't talk about that. I did feel my life is endangered upon seeing the breaking news on all the news channels that day and I wanted to share the news as I drove to Cleveland casino all the time.

There's Ebola in the US. I am glad the Genius is here to tell me. I live under a rock and there are no TV's, radios, cell phones, hard wire phones , internet, neighbors or anyone else that would have let me know. Sorry we have the internet and all the other sites are covered with Ebola posts. It sure is nice to have somewhere to get away from all the news hysteria. It was nice when news only came a few times a day for half an hour or an hour. Now with all the 24 hour a day news stations there just isn't enough news so they try to drive up viewership with hysteria and obsessions.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
