    Vegas trip

My fellow BJ teammate from down under recently took a trip to Vegas for the first time. Unfortunately, all did not go to plan. He did make approximately $12,000 in profit; however, he was put into a coma after someone laced something of his with what turned out to be heroin (hospital toxicology confirmed). Insurance refused to pay out the medical bill because it was drug related. The bill was $120,000. He was kicked out of the MGM hotel as they suspected him of peddling drugs. He had $27,000 in cash stolen from a hotel vault after coming out of his coma. The upside...the hospital cut the bill by 88%.

    Welcome to Vegas!

Was his drink laced while he was playing or did it happen at clubs?

He never said a drink. And I really don't think you have that kind of reaction to heroin by ingesting it. I think there was a little more to how it was used.

sorry to hear about your friend / partner ... hope it works out for him...
swallowing a substance like that diminishes the power by a huge factor... hard to be exact with this but I believe the effects would be about a third its power . ..maybe less ....what does he remember ? if swallowed in that level of poisioning , the body's defense would be to try to throw it up, did he vomit ?

Sorry to hear that about your teammate. Was it the teams bankroll or his bankroll that got stolen? The story seems very suspicious to me but if it was indeed his own personal cash that got stolen that makes for a wild story. Maybe someone slipped a rufie in his drink, which is known as a date rape drug if your friend is not a drug abuser.

It is always the team bankroll getting stolen. That is why I don't join a team.

Oh say it isn't so. That would be my fears after hearing such a story (dishonesty) unless I was there to witness my fellow teammate in a coma like state. It would be something to think about since nobody remembers anything while in a coma. Imagine that. If team money was involved... that makes one ponder the possibilities.

That is truly terrible. I really hope he is ok now. A $120,000 medical bill? That is almost as unethical as the criminals responsible for the whole thing.

Why would a casino risk a major lawsuit by drugging a patron and stealing personal cash out of a vault, only to potentially risk losing their gaming license Moo? I've never heard a story like this and it doesn't make sense. When the OP used the term "stolen" in his original post, hopefully that wasn't a Freudian slip coming from the mouth of his teammate at hand. I'm not buyin the story that the casino stole the money and drugged the patron. Just my opinion.

Sounds like he was trick rolled and the hooker got the $27k. Money just doesn't vanish.
