I suppose it would depend on what the circumstances are for the "special" game. In those regards, it would be open season for dealer abuse.

The OP could have chewed the dealer out and it would have seemed reasonable considering his circumstances since he viewed the dealers comments as being rude. The comments that got directed towards me on my last outing told me to make for an exit instead of stand and fight.

I've never seen or heard of a BJ player in the casino get real rude with the house as of yet, at least not the tables that I've been on. The best form of dealer abuse that I have seen in the casino happened on the craps table, and this surly middle aged man let the dealers and the boxman have it with his surly remarks and they said nothing in return, they just endured his verbal assault. In a way I kind of liked it and got a kick out of it watching it all go down.

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating, nor do I engage in dealer abuse. If I get to the bottom of that chart, it's because a dealer is COMPLETELY, UTTERLY out of line, and is failing to respond to very reasonable requests to stop.

Personally, I don't think it's abusive to look at someone funny when they give me advice that is wrong. I don't think it's abusive to directly, respectfully ask them to stop if they are persistent. And I don't think it's abusive to tell someone to STFU if they still persist in badgering their customers. They are the abusive party at that point, I'm being assertive.

That is the beauty of being a losing player ! i really try not to start any arguments with the dealers . i do not think it helps me. On the other hand If I am a losing player , they will sure get some very aggressive comments from me. I wish i can be on a team so someone can play the role of AP defender. I mean someone can be payed and do stuff to protect us ,cause a team can easily handle the cost.

They don't harass then i don't get aggressive . The reason i do not saying anything is i am supposedly a winning player. If I am paying for a "good time" and I am not ...............I will exert my right as a customer!

Nor do I. But one cannot control the actions or words of the general public at the table. I haven't had to get ugly with casino personnel but I have pissed a few of them off and vice versa.

Let me give a (slightly modified) real example where I absolutely berated a dealer:

    1. I don't play the sidebet. Dealer comments. I say nothing
    2. I hit the sidebet. Dealer stops the game (!) and comments for almost a minute. I say something about "you gotta be consistent" and how you have to play it or not play it.
    3. Dealer continues to hold the game up, commenting on how much money I could have made. I say dismissively, but not disrespectfully "I don't play the bet." I wave my hands as if to say "let's get on with our lives".
    4. Dealer completes the upcards. I'm first to act, so I signal a hit. She is having a conversation with the players about me, not paying attention. "Can you please deal the cards?"
    5. Dealer looks at me like I'm crazy. Just stops, and stares at me. "I don't play sucker bets, can you please do your job and deal the cards?"
    6. She gets an attitude with me, and says something nonsensical about allowing the other players to make their decisions. "I'm first to act, please deal the cards" I continue scratching the table for a hit.
    7. She still does not deal the cards, and just keeps looking at me. Then starts talking to the other players about how I'm "irate" etc. I respond: "I don't give a shit what you think I should do. You have absolutely no fucking business telling me what to do with my money. You are COMPLETELY out of line. Deal the cards or I'm going call your floor over to explain to you why you should not be telling players what bets they have to make."
    8. She continues to not deal. I ask "do you SERIOUSLY not understand why you're not supposed to tell players what to do?! Do I need to explain this to you? Deal the cards!" Finally, she deals the damn cards.

If that is how you handled that particular situation then I would have to say that you are without a doubt a more aggressive player than I. I would have just sat their like a gentleman and wouldn't have said anything at all other than motioning the dealer for a hit. If I play a BJ game with side bets, especially the 3 card poker side bet and I hit it and don't bet it I'll hear it from the other players at the table.

What upsets me is when the dealer purposely throws a card off the table or they throw my second hole card in a pitch game about a foot to the left or right which seems to be on purpose.

    1. Look at them like they just said something CRAZY. Don't say a word.
    2. Repeat above and say "What?!" Don't phrase as a question, but more as a statement.
    3. Again, look at them like they are completely insane and say "you're supposed to do that." Don't treat them like they're wrong or dumb, treat them like they're crazy. It's less personal, and more effective.
    4. Get directly assertive: "I don't want your advice" "Please do not tell me how to play"
    5. Get more aggressive: "Did I ask you?" "Is this your money or my money?"
    6. Get very aggressive and/or personal: "Someone must not like getting tipped" "Yeah, I'll take advice from someone who makes minimum wage" "Where did you get your statistics degree?"
    7. Extreme, personal aggression: "Shut the * up!" "No one cares what you think" "Just deal the cards"

I will leave the ethical decision of when to use these up to you.
I pictured myself saying and doing all the above . LMAO great reply

I remember a dealer voicing a little frustration about "the book"........she said every one playing says, "the book says this; the book says that". She asked me if anyone had ever actually read "the fucking book" and if anyone actually knew the name of the book. I kinda chuckled and asked her what "book" was she talking about and who wrote it. She did NOT have an answer but continued to talk about the "fucking" book........LOL

I told a lady dealer once," I'd kick you in the balls if you had any." She responded, "How do you know I don't?" Well, yeah...

I've only been playing a little over a year but I've never run into a rude dealer. Some of them are kind of quiet and just deal without saying much but they've always been nice to me.
