Probably half the BJ games on the Strip are now 6:5.

The only thing good about Vegas is quantity, not quality.
In vegas this year, I don't even think 5% of my time spent playing blackjack was done "on the strip", and for the exact reasons you listed.

    Tore up FSE stores though.

100% Vegas. However, only 3-4 trips/yr with max hours 12-16/trip. Used to play 10-12 hours/day. Obviously, I play for the fun & excitement. Since the mid-60s I've gone about 100 times and have never regretted a visit. Once I discovered counting about 20 years ago I've even won a little more than I've lost. I use CBJN and the tools that Norm puts out and practice for 6 weeks before each trip. I have a ball just thinking about going to Vegas.

The problem with off-strip casinos is it's difficult to play more than chunky green at most of them without standing out.
You say 8D games. Well if they were there, that's probably why I missed them or did not pay any attention to them. I never play 8D games because it takes far too long to get to the plus count, so they're worthless to me unless I intend to wong, which as I remember is how you like to play.

I have played Venetian a lot in the past, but I played their DD games, and they, of course, were all 3:2; I've never seen otherwise in Vegas for DD. Also, I have never seen 6D 6:5. I can see why you're looking at 8D to wong into, since the plus count once it comes tends to be longer than in 6D. Still, I don't think 6:5 can be widespread in shoe games in Vegas, esp. 6D-- maybe someone with a CBJN can weigh in, as I cannot locate mine but will keep looking.

You mentioned Venetian and Palazzo, which does not surprise me, since they like to mix their totally bad games with their good games.

Monte Carlo surprises me because its part of the MGM Mirage group and I have not seen such a bad game in one of their properties, other than the usual CSM games. Again, it must be 8D, but you say not in the High Limit room-- I don't think I've ever seen 8D in a High Limit room. When I did play at Monte Carlo, I played in the High Limit room, since at that time it was the only way I could play a $25 DD game there, but its not one of my favorite casinos.

As for CET, I wouldn't know, since my first scouting trip of Las Vegas years ago I generally do not set foot inside their casinos. A quick look at CBJN from time to time reinforces that decision, and occasionally I've stopped at Planet Hollywood while my wife shopped the Miracle Mile, and always it was p*ss poor pen, even though their shoe games had late surrender.

Not all off-strip casinos are created equal, but if you're talking about 8D games, then you are right about that, since they are probably $5 min games, and wonging in with chunky green draws instant attention.

But I insist there are plenty of good games in Vegas. I play largely DD games, but you and I both know people here who play 6D in Vegas, and I play it myself at times, both off and on strip, and I sometimes play it at the chunky green level off strip, because I am not wonging in. There are good 6D and 8D games off strip in terms of rules and pen, but if you're only wonging in, you'd have to wong in once and leave after the shoe or you'll get plenty of heat doing chunky green.

I used to go for about 5 or 6 days at a time. Every 2 to 4 weeks. Haven't been there now since June of 2013.

The $50+ tables at Venetian & Palazo are 3:2.

Party pits and low limits tend to be CSM and/or 6:5.

6:5 stores: NYNY, maybe Monte Carlo, some of V&P, and other low limit games.
3:2 stores: Mandalay, Luxor, mgm, Excalibur, tropicana, bellagio, PH, Caesars, venetian, palazzo, Bally's, harrahs, Paris, SLS, (rivieria, circus circus?), stratosphere (1 table), mirage, TI, flamingo, wynn, encore, aria, Cosmo.

Most stores have both 6:5 and 3:2. Except NYNY, all I've seen there is 6:5 (at least on shoes).

Is that for 6D shoe games as well as 8D? Up until now I have never seen a 6D game with 6:5, But I have not been on the strip the past 12 months or more (other than SLS). I formerly played both 6D and DD on the strip at all the MGM Mirage casinos and they were all 3:2. I seldom played the high limit rooms. Times have changed. The places I played were all on your 3:2 list, but I also played 3:2 at NYNY and Monte Carlo, shoe on the first I think, and Pitch on the latter.

Last time I played Venetian it was a $50 table on the main floor, but as I recall, they were $25 during off hours.

Yes, six and eight deck. Most are six but a few are eight. Can't remember which, though. I think Luxor Excalibur and MGM are 8, rest are 6?

I think NYNY has 3:2 on DD but 6:5 on shoes (wtf?) and CSMs or something weird.

I can't think of a single off-strip property that even offers 6:5 BJ (excluding SD) in LV. Golden Nugget might offer it, but I don't think so.

I came in at a little over 20% for the year. I my game plan is hit and run the 6D's on the strip and shorter sessions on juicy DD's off strip. The key to playing on the strip is having a larger BR. The games get much better at the $25 min. tables and get even better at $50 min. At slower times you can get the $50 min games at $25 min so knowing when and where to get those games help out a lot. I prefer to play at times when I can get a table heads up so I don't play a lot in the evenings. There are plenty of good games in Vegas, timing when to play is important. A really good game at 1:00 pm is usually terrible at 8:00 pm.

A fellow BJ team player of mine is currently on a trip to Vegas (we're both from Australia). I'm not sure if he's underestimating the heat there, but he has been asked to leave from The El Cortez, California and Fremont in the space of a week. Personally, I haven't been yet, so unfortunately I sit at 0%.

Playing in Vegas (If your serious about winning money) means learning the tolerance level of all the casinos you play in. Be it counting or whatever. Doubt this can be learned on the occasional trip. Unless you have info from someone who spends a lot of time there. Vegas can be very tough, with all the teams and individuals playing there at any givin time. IMHO.

Haha. No surprise that he got backed off at the Sweaty Spaniard.

There are a lot of good games else where It is no longer necessary to travel to Las Vegas to play. Still go for the shows, and nice weather

The El Cortez is literally not even a surprise, that should have been a certainty, and a place you'd have hopefully avoided if you yourself went on a trip to Vegas in his place lol. How he got backed off at the Fremont is beyond me, something questionable had to have happened there.
