Are the places with the great pay tables crowded by coincidence or because the slot players noticed a difference?

I know "slots" is an inclusive term for all machines. There's no question that there are players who scout the VP pay tables and are selective in their play. Recently, I heard an 80ish year old guy in a Diamond lounge telling his friend not to play TDB because of the high variance, then he mentioned Bob dancer's web site. OTOH, I think it's very tough for anyone to judge how loose a slot is because of the large number of pulls in a pay cycle.

Out here in the hinterlands, we have chain-smoking grannies who play only certain machines. They'll occasionally try different ones, but they tend to clump on certain machines.

They can tell when their money doesn't last as long.

It could be that they're just favoring the lower variance machines over others, but they seem to know what's going on.

Anyway, just got back from casino and lost 1600. Lost almost all my big bets in the last shoe when true count hit 5+ and never went down. Maybe it's the time of the year for me to lose. I had a losing streak this time last year too. I am still 2sd+ this year but yeah losing streaks is not good feeling. Just hope no more dealer magic 6,10,5 or 5,5,a, 5,6,10... When I have my max bet out.....

Dealer magic? I hope they don't have an Ace up their sleeve or pull a rabbit out of a hat.

im new here..but ive been playing blackjack for 18 years, 10 professionally.. i know how to count cards, and i can also remember every card that comes out and patterns.. lately at a casino called Pechanga in california.. they added a buster bonus bet to all the double deck blackjack...and ever since...every single regular players has seen a difference in how the cards have been coming out... dealers are making 7-8 cards 17-20. i also noticed they way they change cards, ever since they dont riffle before putting them in the machine, the small cards tend to stick together but even after few hours passes, the clumps are still coming out. pechanga stopped kicking out counters for a reason, and i was also told this by a pitboss who i knew and left to another casino. counts has been as high as +8, and also negative -10, and every shoe would throw off anyones play. even ask the dealers.. they are all my friends and they are talking to each other why those cards are coming out they way they do, because its affecting their tip too.
