You still haven't said how you know when to not double down, when you perceive you have a disadvantage, when your martingale system calls for a double.
Go with your own advice: The Martingale system cannot beat blackjack.
IF you didn't win your LARGER bets, there is NO WAY possible to come out ahead in this game. Since all the math probabilities reflect you lose MORE hands percentage wise v. win. If I didn't win my double down hands and splits (and then subsequent doubles), I would not even WANT to play this game. That's the way it's set up.........not including the bonus 3-2 on blackjack. With this depressing an attitude, please take a break from playing........go smell the roses..........then decide if you want to continue. (The bad days are when you lose your BIG bets and double downs, splits, etc. due to variance........THAT's when I want to go "slit my wrists"....luckily it doesn't happen TOO often.)

Is this you blackjackwarrior?....
i think he finally understood with Tthree's explanation . Simply put your High /highest bet will lose eventually unless you have an infinite bank and the casino will take an infinite max bet .Maybe then in your life time you will never see that one losing hand that will bankrupt you. You will get hit by that losing hand even if it is the 30th hand and GxD forbid the 44th hand of yours. there could be someone that play that way and never see the lost of their max hand. The chance of that is infinitely small as compared by the counter who just keep playing a beatable game and losing everything . It will be an infinitely small chance for a counter to lose if he/she is playing with an adequate advantage of 1%-2% (small still)in the long run. Therefore the counter need to play a large number of hands to overcome the variance which can have them losing even playing 1000 hours. What you have stated to me it is a question of certainty rather than advantage as uk 21 pointed out. There is a very low certainty with counting cards with a 1 % advantage . The certainty of winning comes from playing a large number of hands . Hence THE LAW OF LARGE NUMBERS IS ON OUR SIDE WHEN ONE IS PLAYING WITH AN ADVANTAGE. You should probably try to understand why and how card counting works cause from your post i do not think you have an even basic understanding of it. I am not very good with the English language and grammar ,but I would admit and learn .
