Probably wrote about this before. A player was flat-betting $500. On the seventh BJ, he picked up his chair and broke it over the table. Dealer said he didn't blame him.

My use of the Martingale is limited to the times that I tell dealers and floor people of my research on it and "soon to be" full fledged use of it.
This doesn't buy much cover but it can't hurt either.

Lately, I have been using a "progression system" at the buffet.....but that's probably a different discussion.

Start with a bowl of soup, then two mounds of salad, then 4 hunks of fried chicken... it's the 32 pieces of pie at the end that gets ya.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I've seen that in a game with no tens in the deck. I can't say I remember seeing it in BJ but I probably have. It is even more remarkable to have this happen when you only have aces and face cards to make a BJ with.

I do mine a little different, especially on those breakfast buffets. I start with one omelet, then two biscuits, then 4 sausage links, then 8 strips of bacon (because who doesn't love bacon?), and then top it all off with 16 minutes of moaning and groaning before I can move again.

Since we are totally off topic now, I thought the buffet progression was 'Asian', 'Mexican', Golden Corral, Seafood, coin beer night at local pub, then stomach pumping at the local hospital?

That's taking buffet progression to the "Long term" game, for professionals only.

I once received 5 consecutive blackjacks in the game without 10's off the top of a shoe. The other players couldn't believe I had to take restroom break after such a lucky streak.

Incredible. I probably would have played through the rest of the shoe, despite the neg count, at min bet with an appropriate excuse and some laughter.

If you are ahead playing a martingale, quit and be one of the few that got out before they were huge losers. I gave this advice on the site a year or so ago. Te guy agreed I was probably right but decided to keep at it. A week later all the massive profits were gone and he was in the hole almost as much. He posted about it and how much he regretted not listening after all the math was explained and he understood it.
