Thread: Dealer paying mistakes

Players constantly accept over payments. Unless there is something else suspicious about you, the focus will go to the dealer.

Many times the casino will not request the money back, but that does not mean they are unaware.

This morning I had another moment. I had 10/8, dealer had 8 showing, drew 8/3, paid me and the girl next to me (10/7). Without realizing, I pulled the money back and then put my new bet back out. The girl stopped play and said she had paid him, called the floor over, went back through the hands, and then took her pay and money. Floor asked me if I was in and I said yes. Dealer didn't take my pay or my bet back, after paying me. It was like a double mistake on his behalf. Though to his defense, the guy absolutely loves me and knows that when I win, he gets tipped. I also caught him later paying my push on a double down with like 17 million drawn out aces. This is the second guy at the same store that I believe intentionally "pays" me simply because he likes me lol.

IMHO... Dealers sometimes (not always) realize there mistakes after the fact. But just let them slide so as not to draw attention to themselves from the pit or the EITS. For example and this has happened to me; dealer gets a BJ and scoops up all the cards from the players at the table. But never takes any of the bets! About half way thru the following round I see this look of confusion and a hesitation from the dealer. I sensed he realized his mistake and thought about it for a moment and decided to "bury" it.

In casinos where dealers are rubber banded between several different types of games, like when going from TCP to UTH miss pays are very common. Often times casinos are their own worst enemy. Examples such as those pointed out above are also a good gauge as to how closely the games are being watched from management.

I believe you're absolute right. Just last evening I had a dealer pay a hefty blackjack, only to let everyone play out their hands and flip over her blackjack, she just gave me a quick wink and that was it.

The guy "loves" you if he's watching your crotch as you walk up to the table. Otherwise he "loves" your tips.
Be very careful with this relationship (in more ways than one).
I'm not meaning to be a smart *** but that's the way I see it.

I thought so and I really didn't mean to be a wise guy. One of our most respected posters here (KJ) has made a believer out of me regarding appearances of cozy relationships with dealers that could be construed as collusion.
Would mean nothing but trouble if seen that way.
