AC's Trump Plaza likely to close by 9/16

Yet another AC casino is likely to close. I've never played this store due to the higher minimums, relative to the neighboring stores. Sands had a $10 table section I used to frequent off of the main floor and that place was leveled a few years ago. Atlantic Club was closed earlier this year and Showboat is closing next month.

The AC casino market seems to be going away fast and I don't know what would reverse this trend, especially given all of the competition from neighboring states. Granted, there are no beaches in PA. But when I go to the beaches on the eastern shore, it certainly isn't to AC.

I recently purchased 'Gambling in America: Costs and Benefits' based on comments in a previous thread. I'm curious to read about how the book might relate to the changes occurring right now in AC.

Talking about PA some casinos are slowly converting to CSM in Blackjack. The 8 deck blackjack game they offer is already hard to beat adding the CSM will hurt their table holds. Slowly following AC's path.

I haven't seen many CSMs in PA. Maybe at the $5-$10 level but I don't play at those low minimums. What places are you referring to?

Like Harrahs Philadelphia and Parx Casino. I don't see many CSM in Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs and Meadow Casino. What I don't like about playing in the high limit pit is that it hard to pull off advance techniques like team play. If for any reason you want to do a big player call in would be impossible. First, it doesn't have that many tables and second it has no mid-shoe entry.

I played at both harrahs and parx before. Once parx got rid of their six deck and double deck games I stop going there. I don't like the casino personnel at Harrahs but like taking there money. Sometimes the ploppies will complain when I spread to the two hands at the middle of the shoes at positive counts. Oh, well I will continue to play this way when the cards are in my favor. I've been to SugarHouse and only play there one time because they are willing to give me free slot play for being a Chairman member at Trump Plaza. Once I deplete the free slot promotion I am done. Then I start my table scouting there was nothing good at Sugarhouse beside the $100 high limit tables.

I like playing at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs I hammer the six decks up there but it is hard and expensive to even get there.

At that time Trump Plaza was offering 6 deck, S17, DAS with 75-80% penetration with $25-100 table limit minimum. I haven't played there since they got rid of the game.

PA casinos and gaming control know what they are doing. They use CSM only on about 25% of their tables, just to make most of it on first-time visitors.

Knowing by providing the best games, they will stay the winners in the long run even they don't maximize the profits.
