    Photoelectronic Blackjack Machines

    Hi,

I'm pretty new on the forum but can already say I'm glad to have joined up. Spoken to a lot of very knowledgeable and expert players in the past week and improved my own game as a result! So thanks to all in general .. !

I now have a pressing question which seems to carry a pretty obvious answer... but remains interesting none the less.

    PHOTO ELECTRONIC BLACKJACK MACHINES (PEBM)

I have seen quite a few of these around, particularly in Dublin (Ireland) and in several arcades and casino slot areas around the UK.

I've played on some of them already to test the EV outcomes using the basic strategy. I've found that you can actually gain a consistent edge by sticking to BS monitoring the Ace behavior on the machine. A month ago I was able to win €1000 in one sitting by following BS exactly, and using small martingale betting patterns (1-8) at most ... and also from just sticking to flat betting of €1s and €2s. One advantage of the particular machine I am currently testing is that the rules are S17 DAS ... I plan to get the model number of the machine and contact the manufacturer to check what percentages it can fixed to... then using some betting trials I believe I can work out what their default return setting is. I will return to this thread with the results when I have it. It seems very much though that their settings are very favourable and could be vunerable to a well spread bet system.

I would like to hear from anyone who has had any success or failure with these machines? Are there any inherrant weakness's that can be exploited and is there such a thing as "Heat" with these machines? Such as a monitoring system of countermeasures subroutine in the program?

    Ben

I wouldn't count on winning any money long term with this approach.

Do you mean penetration percentage? Doesn't the machine show a simulated discard tray??? Im very curious as to how exactly it is you are going to beat this game by sticking to basic strategy and a martingale system.

Now... seriously Ben, you really need to do a little more reading and start getting some playing hours. Your incursion to BJ will be chatastrophic otherwise... no matter how good a mathematician you might be.
