    Non Casino related advantage play

Do any of you have advantage plays that you use either on a regular basis for small amounts or maybe occasionally for large amounts of EV?

For example, I have signed up for a credit card recently that gives $200 back after you spend a given amount on the card. A pure $200 profit for simply adding a little extra credit (If anyone is interested I can email the information, requires above average credit score and is a big bank).

Another one (more common but still not utilized by the majority of people): Look to eBay before looking anywhere else for purchases. Generally this is where you will find the best prices and protection from a big company.

Others can be a bit more obscure. For example, a close friend has recently had heavy expenses and has stopped contributing to his 401k despite the employer benefit of matching his contribution to a certain amount. He has been using his salary to cover his expenses and consequently been leaving free money on the table by not digging in to his savings to cover the expenses instead. He SHOULD cover immediate expenses with savings and contribute the max that the employer will match using his salary, to the best extent that he can.

An unethical, degenerate one I've heard is walking into hotels around 9am and heading directly to the continental breakfast. Nobody asks questions and you have a free light meal.

Interested to hear if anybody has some to share.

I'm interested in learning which bank. I have above-average credit score (Equifax 745). Please PM me. Thanks.

I pay for everything (including utilities) with rewards credit cards with no annual fee and then pay them off at the end of the month so I'm not charged interest. Get 30-40 bucks back a month.

I do the same. Good way to get a little back.

Ace: pm is only available to subscribed members. I just checked and the offer has actually expired anyways. Now they are offering only $100 back. Still good to keep eyes open for these sort of promotions.

I need more credit anyway, and $100 isn't exactly loose change. Here's my email address: [email protected] Thanks.

I get 3 to 5% cash back on gas
2 to 5% cash back on groceries
1.75% cash back on all other purchases.

I pay them all off every month and get about $100 cash back a month

I think , for the most part , not always , but mostly the "type" of person that figures out advantage play and can actually sit down and do it ... is the "type" of person that looks for these types of "deals" and such as a natural habit in the first place ... all good ideas. The other "type" of person is a wasteful and financially-problematic person , getting his or her phone shut off for lack of payment , not looking to save money , gambling , etc ... to one degree or another - one looks to save and make money, works at it , shows up to the job , is organized with things like bills due , dates , appointments and times ... one type is like that , one is not.
“It seemed to me ... that any civilization that had so far lost its head as to need to include a set of detailed instructions for use in a package of toothpicks, was no longer a civilization in which I could live and stay sane.

My mechanic has worked on fleet vehicles for corporations all his life. Now he has a side business and charges by the actual time it takes to fix my car rather than a blue book of how many hours it would take with hand tools like every other garage does.

He changes for 45 minutes if it takes 45 minutes. He doesn't go to the book and say, "it says I should charge for 4 hours. Boy time flies when you are ripping people off".

That's my advantage play, too. I don't pay $3/mo, because chances are the guy you want to PM can't receive PMs.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
