    Book on casino surveillance

Does anyone have information on "How to Beat Casino Surveillance" (eBook) by Vinny De Carlo?

I don't know if it is still in print, and unfortunately Vinny died a couple months ago. You might put an alert on eBay and abebooks.

    Thanks.
Any comment on its content? Is it worth the $99 price?

There are 3 books by surveillance guys I am aware of. This one, Cellini's book, and Behind the Black Dome by T Dane. DeCarlo's I would say is the worst of the three. It had a lot of material that was specific to the time it was written, like evaluations of particular surveillance rooms in Vegas. Behind the Black Dome is available and I believe the author is fairly active here. Check it out.

You've answered my question. I'll look into Behind the Black Dome.
    Thanks to all.

is it not an assumption that these days, all casinos use the same technbiques and equipment and systems? There are so many casinos, so many still struggling and just making a small bit of money. would they be investing so much in catching counters? My local casino went from shuffling machines to more handshuffling games because the shuffling machines monthly rent is too high. They now mostly use tables with the shuffling machines but when weekend crowds or demand it, they open more BJ tables and dealers handshuffle.

No. Even if you completely upgrade to new cameras and HDD recorders, it is still a phenomenal headache to completely rewire a casino with new cables. Any system is only as good as it's weakest link.

I have both T.Dane's and Cellini's books, Cellini's is more comprehensive, but T. Dane's is much more up to date. Both are excellent.
"One of these days in your travels, you are going to come across a guy with a nice brand new deck of cards, and this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the Jack of Spades jump out of the deck and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not take this bet, for if you do, as sure as you are standing there, you are going to end up with an ear full of cider."
