    Niagara Falls area games

Has anybody been to the Canada side of Niagara recently?

I'm looking for a good blackjack game and just general reviews of the casinos there.

Which casinos are my options? I will not be in the U.S. at all, so only Canada.

Also, is one of the casinos better than the other(s) in terms of ambiance? Friends are coming and decor is more important to them than a .2% difference in house edge.

I was in Niagara Falls last October. I only went to the Fallsview Casino and not the other property up the road (Seneca Niagara, I think?) The property was really nice atmosphere wise. I was there on a mini-vacation with my wife so I didn't have time to be running around and scouting the games. Mainly I was just trying to squeeze in some entertainment after my wife went to sleep.

Casino was small with few table games, maybe 6-8 BJ tables if I remember correct. They had shoe games, but they were $25 mins so I didn't play those and so I can't comment on the rules, but it looked pretty typical (8d, 2 cutoff). They also had double attack BJ which had $10 mins so I tried that just for fun. I didn't know the strategy but still came out a few bucks ahead.

I doubt you will find a game anyone here would consider "good", but maybe I missed something. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday so conditions may be worse on the weekend/peak times. I would consider these places "tourist traps" that don't necessarily have to offer decent rules by any stretch.

Also be aware everything in Niagara is expensive. For example, an omelet at the lowly IHOP was $16, but maybe I am used to cheaper PA living. There is some good value places, but most are not.

Anyway, have a good trip if you head out there and sorry I couldn't give a more detailed and helpful report.

Thank you very much for your post!
I am for sure going next month and the casinos will be just one stop on the trip.

I also read online, for other people who will use this as reference, that Fallsview is nicer in terms of environment than the other Canadian option, Casino Niagara.

I don't believe there are good rules on any of the games, most 8D with poor penetration or CSM from what I could gather, and limits high on weekends.

The main floor conditions at the Fallsview have been dismally the same for years now. 8 decks, S17, DOA, DAS, no surrender, about 75% pen. Mainly CSMs with a few ASMs sprinkled in. During the week, you might find a $15 minimum on a CSM, but always $25 or more for the ASMs. Evenings, weekends and on tournament days, the ASM tables go up to $50 or more. I haven't been into the high limit room for years, so I can't report on that.

The Fallsview is much nicer than the old Casino Niagara to the point where the latter feels like it's been neglected. You will find lower limits there, but generally the same game conditions and rules.

Someone mentioned Seneca. It is not the other Canadian casino. It is on the American side.
