What exactly does a pit boss/supervisor see on screen when you're playing rated?

I don't know if I read it here or somewhere else but do pictures/emails get sent out if you make a reservation for an upcoming trip and you are a suspected AP?

Is there some kind of flag or sign that pops up when they swipe your card?

There will be a flashing red indicator that there are remarks that should be read about you and the remarks cannot be deleted. Usually it's just stuff like "Player likes Johnny walker Blue" or "Player CTR'd but did not give SSN, get ID". But sometimes it's "Player Flat Bet by Joe Smith on 4/20/13" or "Permanent Eviction on 12/1/13 by Kevin O'Toole" or "Call Surveillance suspected card counter, watch closely"

If you've been countermeasured there is also usually remarks for the hotel front desk to "Call Surveillance upon Check-in, guest is an Advantage Player". So even if you play anonymously surveillance will be looking for you and ready to take immediate action even if you don't turn in your ratings card.

It depends on your approach to the game and the way the casino protects its game. If you play aggressively with no cover at higher bet levels it can happen on the first visit.

At my local casino my card says "Noted BJ player", with instructions to inform the pit I am on the property.

I may or may not have taken a peek at my local one recently. It has a few remarks on there like "Good player;table min;son of XXXX;walks on bad play" etc. Which is pretty accurate, I only ever really play the table min when I'm killing time, play near perfect basic strategy like clockwork, son of a known mid-level government individual, and I literallly hate with a passion, players that don't know or won't learn basic strategy or just play "by the seat". IE, Doubling 14 against a 6, 17 agains a 5, etc. etc. The only thing I didn't really like on there was the table min part, but I keep a pretty low spread until I lose the count. Still in the process of trying to learn. I'm a people person though, really interactive and engaging, so I know just about everybody in the casino during my normal hours by name, am on a first name basis, so I'd say I have a pretty solid "cover" for when I can consistently count. Most of those guys know me as a slot whale, have a top card, and play blackjack in between stints of slot pulls, or at least that's what they think is going on, so I pretty much seem invisible to most floor guys, even when I've got 80 dollars out on a 5 dollar table.

1.) Assume there are no secrets. What you do is what they see and what you both get. The question is can either live with it. Most of the personnel have been employed at that job/location for years. Few are imbeciles. Most would rather not run you but people have their bad days. The killer is when one that watched you like a hawk at one location takes a new job at a new casino where you were previously flying under the radar.
2.) Once you're an AP, your lifespan is only as good as the person on duty. So know their limitations and stay within them or don't play that day.
3.) Give them their due respect (much like a policeman). I'm told insulting their intelligence is your worst move. Overbetting and chip hiding are two obvious that come to mind.
4.) Once tagged, you get to play because they allow you that privilege.

At a local store apparently I have terrible notes on me. One of the floor looked at me and said "wow they wrote some bad stuff about you in here, good luck xxxx". Anyway they let me play so I'm not complaining!

Speaking from experience, a friendly smiling reply of. O really? Like what? They will go ahead and tell you. At least then you know what "not" to do.

Get a host or friendly pit critter to add some good comments about you. Do that 3 or 4 times and you'll get the older "mean" comments to scroll off the screen so that they are not immediately visible.

This, and one of the worst mistakes is playing dumb in a conversation like that. They know you are there in hopes to make a little money, so being chatty, friendly, and telling them a story seems to go a long way. They want nothing more than to hear good words come out of your mouth about their casino, profession, gambling experiences etc. Those are all markers for keeping people in the seat. They don't want to hear how their casinos suck, dealers are shitty, and X place is better than Y place. That's how bad remarks get on there.

Bingo, Hosts can go a long way. Their job is to keep YOU happy, so YOU come back. If you're a hidden AP/cover AP, this could work very well in your favor. Just make sure to reciprocate the kindness.

I recently asked the floor "How much do you have me there". I was referring to my buy in.

She replied "from 15 to 300". I was still staring at her and she quickly realized and said, "if it was your total buy in it's 800".

I thought the floor decides your average bet and put that in. I didn't know that they enter the range of your spread.
