New Blackjack Player looking for any criticism good and especially bad

recently started to take blackjack seriously.

started off playing $5 tables but it's difficult to play with some of the horrible players at times.

    Mostly play $10, $15, or $25 tables.

I know and thoroughly understand basic strategy to a tee.

my betting series for a $5 table is:
    5
    5
    5
    10
    10
    20
    20
I parley winning bets and i start the series over when i win a parlayed bet.

I am open and looking for counting techniques.

Please be as harsh as you need to be!

    Thank you

Look at the name of this forum and realize that you're just gambling. If you enjoy it and feel it gives you entertainment value more power to you.

Well, you use some sort of progressive betting system for some reason, but like ouchez said, you seem like a casual player. If you're trying to get into counting, pick a count, and read the text associated with that count, and read more books, and practice relentlessly.

You are not counting. Simply put - depending on factors, the house has the advantage on 80% of hands dealt. If you accept that, depending on factors, this is a statistical fact, then it is not a stretch to conclude than in order to make money, the sum total of bets on 20% of hands, where you hold the advantage, must exceed the sum total of bets on 80% of hands where the house holds the advantage. You are not doing that now.

Learning basic is a start. You must now evaluate your risk in relation to bankroll, learn appropriate Rampling relative to that risk, and develop knowledge of indices etc.

Good plan pjroo. As much as I dislike the casino industry and some of their predatory policies, I need the industry to remain profitable, so they will continue to offer beatable games. Your plan of attack will provide continuing revenue for the industry.

Disagree - you absolutely have control - win or lose the hand in question - your playing decisions must be based on the long term. What play wins you more - what play loses you less. Playing and betting decisions are governed firstly by the count, secondly - fine tuned by whatever additional information you are able to glean - such as side counts, etc.

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage.
