This is a dated video biography on Tommy Hyland and his team. There is some over the top acting; but it's a great story about one of the pioneers. I think he'd be an interesting guest chat.

I think I done watched almost every video there is about Blackjack on YouTube, and I got to say this is one of my favorites! Along with Arnold Snyders "Beating Blackjack"! And a few others as well.
"You Win Some You Lose Some, As Long As The Outcome Is Income"
Yeah I've seen the first five minutes of this, but never watched the whole thing till now. I feel more comfortable playing blackjack in present times then back then when casinos took physical action upon Advantage Players.
edit: favorite part was when the dealer hits on a hard 20
Off topic: What do you think about this story? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH-Q5JNTgwE This was posted by Bloomberg so I'm not sure how to react to this video. This is bits and pieces of a documentary that you can find on Netflix. In the documentary, Don Johnson mentions casinos tailoring a blackjack game to his preferences and he also talks about intimidating dealers to make mistakes. Wouldn't dealers be fired for making ten-thousand dollar mistakes? This story just doesn't add up.

Dealers make mistakes all the time. I doubt any dealers got fired because they gave him a hit card when he said stand or some such. Yes it is costly when he is betting 100k a per hand, but it is the same mistake a dealer makes all the time and bosses realize that.
Dealer mistakes happen all the time. I even negotiate with the suits to get a better resolution than offered and am successful a high percentage of the time.
Most high rollers get a game that is better than is offered to the average Joe. I am surprised he didn't arrange late surrender as well. I have gotten in trouble talking too much about how Don Johnson won the money. He made the most of the rebate and once he had the deal at one casino got the other casinos to match it. That is as specific as I will get. He tells many different stories about how he did it. I am not sure any of them are the whole truth.
The pompous PR#*k tells part of how he did it when he's talking to the enemy.
I think he said something like You need to know who's with me/them at the table.
But I'd rather watch a re run of Duck Dynasty than go back and watch it again to get the exact quote.
Not just porn stars were part of his entourage.
Beware the fury of a patient man.
Here, for divulging too much sensitive info.
All you need is a big wad of cash to deposit in the cage and you can negotiate a better game and all sorts of other perks. It is up to the casino rep to do the math to make sure they should make money off of you but not consenting to too much. They want all that 7 figure wad and know they won't get any of it if you take it elsewhere. They will try to offer you what it takes to get you to play at their casino. Once one casino accepts your terms others are likely to match them. Sometimes a casino's greed is its worst enemy. I guess that's more like most of the time when you start looking at all aspects of casino gambling.
