Red Seven "improved" pivot point from deepnet technologies

    Hi,

I've been practicing with the app"blackjack expert" using their improved red seven count. They have you increasing your bet at -1 rather than Snyder's recommended 0 because of their computer simulations. I was wondering which one is optimal. Thanks.

R7 running count 0 is more or less equivalent to Hilo TC 2. So, generally speaking you could get a little bit of benefit from starting to ramp a little before 0.

A convenient trick - when the absolute value of your R7 running count is less-than-or-equal-to the number of decks remaining, you're at a count that corresponds to a Hilo TC of 1.

Example: There are 2.5 decks in the discard tray, so I have 3.5 decks remaining in the six deck shoe.

My running count climbs from -4 to -2.

Two is less than 3.5 - I know I'm around a Hilo TC of 1, a little better actually. You can bet accordingly.

If that's confusing for you, just disregard.

Depends on which Red7, as Arnold has released multiple sets of tables over the years. Also, how many decks, what rules? I just ran Adv. Red7 with six decks, and the bet should increase at -2 for most penetrations.

Thanks for the advice White. It does make sense , although as a beginner I'm not sure if I should be trying to convert anything, but it seems to be a very simple thing to do after I get a good grip on a running count.

Norm, sorry, I should've specified this was for a two deck game. In the app it doesn't change the spreads according to rules or penetration, just by # of decks. It has me increasing the bet at -3 on a six deck game.

DD is -2 with one-deck penetration. -1 with better penetration. With 6D, there is an advantage at -3. But, it is too small for an optimal bet increase. At least with the rules, etc. that I ran.
