In the book "Beat The Dealer" Thorp talks about standing on 3 and 4 card 16's. I know modern basic strategy says to hit...using REKO I know that the compromise index calls for standing on hard 16 and 15 with a +2 count. With a high negative count it makes sense to take a hit on a 3 or 4 card 16 but is Thorps recommendation of standing on 3 and 4 card 16's still generally accepted today? Or did he say that back in the early days of card counting because they would deal out to the last card?
