I couldn't do it ohbehave, I guess I don't have the manual dexterity to do it. Also, counting this way is very distinct from what I have been doing and I don't want to make a step back in my training. Although your technique seems to be good for full table drills and actual games, it doesn't profit from all the different drills CVBJ has, as far as training is concerned.
You know what.... I guess I am thinking too much about the best way to do things, but the truth is that I cannot know because of my total lack of experience. It was good to think about proper technique and your feedback assisted me very much, but what I need to do now is simple and objective and lots of you have already said: just practice!
I have devised a progressive training schedule for full table drills and I am going to attack it! By the way, I am reading BJA2 and it says that we should count a full table with 7 initial hands and the dealer upcard in no more than 2-3 seconds.
Although CVBJ has a limit of 6 hands, my new focus is this overwhelmingly ambitious objective.
I think the answers on how to actually do this will come naturally over time... or so I hope.
(but that doesn't mean I won't disturb you all with many many questions )
Best of luck!
Hey Don!
In a previous post, you were kind to give me a number of links to get BJA3...
http://www.GamblingCatalog.com/
http://www.AdvantagePlayer.com/
http://www.Trackjack.com/
http://www.VPinsider.com/
http://tinyurl.com/k79acm4
...but none of them worked to me, I don't know why. I tried to communicate via the websites, but got no answer.
I was then able to find a local used copy of BJA2 and kindof settled down a bit with it, because it is already a huge amount of information I need to slowly digest.
But now I see Amazon has BJA3 as well, so I am waiting for next month to order my next round of BJ books and yours is the first on my list.
The updated edition doesn't state we should count a full table in 0.5 seconds, does it?
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!
Best of luck!
Well, here's one final link for you, although the last on your list should work:

Amazon is, of course, fine as well. Enjoy! BJA3 is twice the size of BJA2.
