I wouldn't look at it as heat. From the pit bosses perspective it probably seemed odd to him that you didn't sit there and give your winnings back while losing everything. I just got back from a trip myself and was fortunate enough to only be down $20 after 4 buy-ins among various houses and doing hours of battle with the casino. It was an arduous task to get the dealer heads up by myself except for 2 occasions. While they had relative ease beating all of the other players around me they had a hard time with me and couldn't knock me off any of their tables but came close. I can see how playing with 4-5 players on the table can really affect your win rate. It almost makes me want to proposition the house for a better game but I'm not playing for big stakes.

I also had a tire blowout before I got to the casino. Nothing like having diesels and cars whizzing 1ft at 70mph from your car on a single lane highway while your changing a tire 30 minutes before dark without a flashlight.

Why would you have heat for flat betting or raising your bet twice to 75? The thing that probably drew the most heat was buying in for $1000 and flat betting 25.

I agree with Joker. Nothing you did suggests counting except your ratio of average betting and buy-in amount. It would definitely look to me like someone that respects the Kelly Criterion.

I don't know what tables are like where you are from, but where I live, a $25 table is for the whales. These tables will get visits from the pit boss no matter what simply because they are tables for the "big" players.

I think it's a legitimate question (I asked a similar one recently) and FWIW, I agree with counter19. At small joints, $25 tables are the Whalers and are going to be watched just for entertainment value if nothing else.

But, you said you have been playing there RATED for 6 months or so and you've taken over $4,000. You didn't mention rat holing; it's hard to say how much THEY THINK you've won. The Casino has to estimate your winnings/losings. So it's possible they have over-estimated you at +$5,000 (or more) and that will automatically get attention at a small place. Also, it's possible they spotted your bet ramp in prior visits and were already starting to watch you more closely regardless of what you did this particular time.

I suspect the comment about "a day's work" is what got you nervous. It would make me nervous, too. FWIW, I'd lay off for a week or two (maybe go somewhere else?) and then I would go in next time and play slot machines and/or craps and skip Blackjack for a while. Then, go in on a Friday or Saturday evening when it's quite busy and try to just blend in at the Blackjack tables.

Also, please follow up if anything interesting happens!!

so they saw you spread 1-3....you can do this ANYWHERE (sans SOME S/DD) if w/o raising any eyebrows (obviously you were planning on betting (spreading) much more)...."visiting players" realize such an advantage here as i EASILY get away with 1-30 to even 50 on shoe games b4 i wear out my welcome....pretty much gone by then

Spreading to two hands on a double deck game is asking for attention, it might not be a huge spread but it will get you looked at.

$4000 over a span of 6-8 months of playing green isn't very much. It sounds like its more paranoia than anything.

I assume from "all went great" that you saw NO SIGNS of HEAT, right? You just played your normal game and nothing unusual happened?
