What is the difference between the full version of casino verite and the free version offered by this website?
Download the demo from www.qfit.com/downloads.htm. It would take several pages to describe the difference. CV contains 116 screens and over 700 files.

"I don't think outside the box; I think of what I can do with the box." - Henri Matisse
The free version is limited to basic strategy and a few common rules. In other words, it is a good program for practicing your basic strategy or just "playing blackjack".
The full version is a teaching program. You input the counting system you want to use, the rules of the game you are playing etc and as you play all of your mistakes are pointed out to you. There are different drills for you to practice such as counting flashcards, deck estimation, play variation drills (index numbers) etc.
It is the cheapest $ 90 you'll ever spend if you are interested in learning rather than just playing.
Thanks alot for the responses, I appreciate them. I am pretty new, and so far I am really just trying to practice basic strategy and HiLo counting. I am not a mathematician, nor am I looking to be a professional player, I would just like to get better. I am interested in learning other counting methods, but at this point it is just for fun. The free version on this website seems to be fine for practicing, I am just wondering what I would get out of the not free version.
Another question (and I apologize if I should make a new post instead of asking this here): Is there any reason I should be learning KO, or some other system, instead of HiLo?
I will try to respond you (from newbie to newbie)....
As far as I understand, the most important difference, specially for a beginner, is that you don't need to make true count calculations in KO (division of the running count by the remaining number of decks). At least for me this is a HUGE difference.
Another slight technical difference is that the card 7 is counted as +1 instead of 0.
Performance-wise, check out this link:

I can give you more info when my copy of Knockout Blackjack arrives (hopefully soon)
Hope it helped!
Keep in mind when reading KO BJ that the results and comparisons given are misleading (http://www.blackjackforumonline.com/...leofbabies.htm) but not entirely wrong.
Thanks a lot for pointing that out!
I just read the article you mentioned.
If I understood correctly, the main problem is that their sims were made before SCORE was "invented".
So they optimized the betting scheme for KO and used the same one for the other systems, thus incurring in a great bias towards a higher KO performance.
Now, with SCORE, you put all "games on an even playing field, assuming we define “even” as an equal and constant risk of ruin, assuming the same starting bankroll and the same betting limits for each system in identical games".
Did I get it right?
Best!
"Here’s where Vancura and Fuchs went wrong. KO’s imbalance makes it strongest and most accurate when the running count is at its pivot. So, the authors, very logically, set up their sims so that KO was placing its high bets precisely at this point. The other systems, however, were then forced in their simulations to play with the same “average bet” that KO used."
I thought that meant they had optimized the betting scheme for KO. But I guess this is not exactly the optimal betting ramp used to calculate SCORE, right?
What I meant about SCORE is that, OK it is not directly about SCORE, but if they had used it, they would have optimized each system individually, thus having even grounds for comparison. Since they tweaked the betting scheme for KO and used the same one for the other systems, of course they biased the analysis.
