I feel the most thing a player needs to watch is not at a casino but traveling with such items, once the gig is up at the casino, the intent is pretty clear what someone was trying to do when they look up that player in bad guy data bases and fine out what he is about. Its not that hard to get a players card then get rid of your id and never have it on you again. If your doing something advanced that could be mistaken for cheating, I would prob never use a fake, because its more leverage the casino has over your. The problem is when your declaring cash, get randomly bagged checked with TSA, or get pulled over. All the agent or cop is going to see is an excessive amount of cash which can lead to other searches and possible your items can be found. In that situation , its going to be difficult and time consuming getting out of and your prob going to get taken in (your milage may vary)
I am not recommending using them but for some people its the only way they can make a buck. You have to weigh the cost and it is not worth it for most players. Just cause you check in at the tables in vegas and get instant heat when not playing rated isn't a good reason to use one, just find a store that doesn't have that policy for unrated players. If your betting less that 2x400 I would never even consider it. With that being said, the more times you press the issue with traveling with these things your eventually going to get unlucky, at that point you can just pray that you made enough money that it was worth all the legal crap that comes with it.
Also, if a casino catches you using a fake there is prob a very good chance your back off is going to turn int o an 86 or worse so be careful
Sometimes it's mandatory if someone is playing high stakes and has a soiled name but as I am finding out, AP is not about betting yellow chips, its bout extacting the most EV from casino's possible. Sometimes betting less to fly under the rador is better than getting the highest hourly your bankroll can afford.
