Imagine playing a full table w/ 4 other players, and whenever the count goes positive, they all jump out and let you play the positive rounds for yourself. Your wife is acting like "the 4 other players" (except only 2 hands) and she is jumping out in positive counts to let you spread. You aren't worried about her $5 minimum bets losing during the negative counts. She won't have to count at all. When the count gets positive, you give her a signal and she drops from 2 hands to 1 hand (or just drops out all together to 0 hands).

    An EXAMPLE spread would be:

    TC <= 0 : $25, $5, $5 (Your $25, 2 hands of $5 for her)
    TC = 1 : $50, $5 (Your $50, her 1 hand of $5)
    TC = 2 : $100, $5 (Your $100, her 1 hand of $5)
    TC => 3 : $150 (Your hand of $150, she plays no hands)

    That's what I'd think for HiLo -- not sure how to translate it to REKO, though.
    I will sit on her side. When TC is +3, I will play her spot without asking. When TC drops to +1, I will release that spot.

    You can use her as your card eater, having her bet the minimum on several spots, when the count

    is poor, exiting when it is just moderately high, leaving you to "spread vertically" on a single spot.
    If you cannot do this count by yourself you have no bizzness playing as an AP

    You never know where you might live tomorrow.... and besides, everything about trying to be an AP has been fun:

    - playing the game in CV;
    - discovering this amazing discipline called Advantage Playing;
    - getting to know these incredible software (specially CVData and CVCX, which I am about to buy!)
    - sucking up all this knowledge from you here;
    - reading fantastic books;
    - challenging my mind by memorizing rules and counting;
    - cultivating discipline by keeping records;
    - practicing risk analysis;
    - trying to understand statistics for the twentieth time;
    - making some good use of the doctor's waiting room;
    - having a good excuse not to do housekeeping (she knows I need to practice to get the money!)
    - socializing with my wife while practicing;
    - learning a new trick to show off to your friends;
    - getting beaten up by my 8-year-old niece in my own game

    So, why not?

    Best of luck!

    Thanks! Go for jbuck and tell me how it went next weekend!
    Best!
