    Illustrious18

In practicing memorizing this, is it correct to think of the following:

12 vs. 6: Normally, BS says to stand but, really ONLY STAND IF THE TRUE COUNT IS -1 OR GREATER
12 vs. 5: Normally, BS says to stand but, really ONLY STAND IF THE TRUE COUNT IS -2 OR GREATER
12 vs. 2: Normally, BS says to hit but, really ONLY HIT IF THE TRUE COUNT IS 3 OR GREATER
12 vs. 3: Normally, BS says to hit but, really ONLY HIT IF THE TRUE COUNT IS 2 OR GREATER
    etc

    thx.

I made two changes and underlined them. People on the forum like it when you try to include stuff like what count system you're using, number of decks, and all the rules for the game. But yeah, it looks like you're using Hi Lo I think. As your count goes higher, you'll want to stand because there are an excess of tens yet to be dealt.

The number for hit/stand means Stand at or Above the number, Hit at less than the number. When there is no number you just play basic strategy.

    Also, I would assume whatever strategy this is 5 = -1 and 6 = -2

No, in fact, for 6D, S17, both are -1.

Probably set at 18 because....as you go down the index chart (in order of EV & frequency), they start to lose value once you hit the 18+ range (I'm assuming this is true at least).

If you're playing pitch games though, Moses, you should def be playing than more the I'll 18.

A somewhat arbitrary line of how much an index is worth and when you have reached such a small increase in EV that you decide you can let the casino have it and the illustrious 18 was born. To me that is never, I want all the advantage my count can give me, so I memorize all indices.

It sounds like you may welcome a shuffle at that point. I am not a SD artisan but I do know that you can't make much from what you can get away with by spreading your bet so playing deviations become much more important.

Yes, I'm using S17, DAS; Surrender, 6D, Hi-Low; And, my head is ready to explode trying to incorporate the I18! I'm using a Bellagio model but, if you can recommend a better place in Vegas for a starter, that would be appreciated. I'm hoping to test it out in a couple of months then, again every few months. Any advice is appreciated. I enjoy playing the game and, want to learn to play it correctly. Thanks, MercySakesAlive!

I will look into it, thanks. But, I'm committed to learning Hi-Low, right now.
