Zeebabar, I think most people on these boards are tolerant of new players asking for help when they actually are trying to do some of the work themselves and just need some clarification or guidance. Or at least when they actually heed the advice given. But to ask for advice, then ignore it, or to ask for others to spend their time helping you when you admit that you just can't be bothered to research it on your own, I think I speak for most posters here when I say that just comes across as disrespectful. It's as if you believe your time is more valuable than ours and therefore you are entitled to have one of us research your questions instead of you. It's a respect thing. So, I won't be doing any of your research for you. Many others feel the same way. The guys at GC are just a bit more vocal about it. If you've got friends here that are PM'ing you the answers you seek, why not just bug them to begin with instead of posting?

Once a post is made, as much as I wish you wouldn't make it, there are many of us here who are going to read it regardless. I read every post on this board. You never know when someone is going to say something useful to me in any thread, so I read it. But I still decided long ago that if you can't help yourself at least a little, at least on the easy stuff, I'm not going to waste my time finding the answers for you.

    From Wikipedia:
In Internet slang, a troll (/?tro?l/, /?tr?l/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

I am not asking you or anyone else who does not want to find answers for me to do so. As an analogy, there is a man at a crossroads panhandling for money. Some will take a look at him, think he looks perfectly healthy and should go work rather than stand around begging and they drive on, some will feel the man must really need money bad and they roll down the window and hand him some money and then there are people (like some on this forum) who believe the road belongs to them, that this guy has no business being on it and they scream and shout at him to go get lost.

This forum, I understand, is not some exclusive classroom with some teachers who have the authority to throw students out. I perfectly understand that some of you are sick of me but if that is the case, move on because there are people who have patiently answered my question. Do not insult them for their decision to provide an answer. You can't insult me. At 64, I am too old with too thick a skin.

If you are likening yourself to a panhandler looking for mercy from the passersby, I would suggest that Norm's free book, Don's not free but still well worthwhile book, and Norm's indispensable software are like a gourmet meal and a luxury penthouse waiting for you. You don't need our change, you need to go use the resources at your disposal.

The correct analogy would be a man at a crossroads panhandling for money while stacks of bills lie at his feet. He's just too much of a ****ing lazy bum to bend down and pick up the money, so he asks others to do it for him.

Wrong again, he just does not want to pick up the bills lying by his feet because he sees more entertainment (like a hot slut crossing the streeet) he would miss by doing so. I mean, as long as I have folks like you either posting on a thread I started and cannot resist participating or trying to tell everyone why they should not answer me, there is no incentive for me to do the boring stuff, is there? Keep begging people to ignore my threads (which are always a legitimate BJ question) is kind of funny! Maybe, one day, I will have to post under another name.

Luckily, for now, just like on this thread, there are kind people who either ignore me and move on to the next thread (which you cannot seem to do) or answer my question. It is unfortunate that they have to read your postings telling them that they are too dumb for answering my questions. Insulting everyone who answers my questions is not winning you any popularity contest.

Zee, however impolite some of the responses may have been to your posts, you might take into account the fact that you keep getting these responses on more than one forum, and give some thought as to why. There exist people with different goals in this, and all, fields. You appear to want to advance very quickly. That's OK. But, to do so, in an effective manner, will probably require more time reading and less time writing until your questions prove more interesting to the community.

And adding to what Norm said. One thing that is crucial to being successful. Is building up a network with other players through the message boards that you can share sensitive info with. Such as specific game details in particular casinos, strategies for beating other casino games, and other sensitive things going on in the casino world. This takes time and must be done very tactfully. Personally myself, as it stands right now. I wouldn't bother telling you when to split sixes in a BJ game.

Nyne, told you he reads every post looking for any scrap of info, and I do as well. So for you to belittle someone who takes the time to read your post only reassures how ignorant and selfish you really are. Please take some time and do your own research. Good luck!

Take this thread, I posted "
When there is a negative TC (hiLo) and the dealer has an Ace showing, at what number do you stand? The dealer has checked and he has no Ten, given the negative count (he may have 2-6), do you hit your 16? I do not know the index for negative counts."

Don S answered it and so did the first few people and I learned as did others who are not pros or big time players. Then the idiots started coming in and making it a post about me. The choice should be to answer the posed question or move on but then the immature ones with psychological issues come in and take over. This is what has repeatedly hapenned. We all have our learning styles and our expressing styles. In my case, sometimes I return from a casino and anything that perplexed me or where I did not know the answer I post. I do go on later and check other sources. I have already worked thru the archives at GC pages and am up to 2009 (having started at 1999), read a lot of books and received a lot of help from Norm and others. I still make many mistakes and I post. How can those idiots even live without me to bash? Lately, some have joined me in telling these idiots that they do not have to answer me or any question they do not like. It is disrespectful when they try to tell folks such as DonS or Stanford Wong who they should answer and who they should not, that they should not be answering me.
