Most heat you've received without being backed off?

Late last year I was at a store where the pit bosses were staring me down hard and the casino manager walked up behind me and said "interesting" while I was playing heads up against a dealer (playing two spots). Then, there were offhand comments regarding counting and the "back room" and how people don't want to be taken to the "back room" from the dealer herself.

I wasn't counting at all, just enjoying some free time but it was fairly annoying to say the least... What's the most heat you've had without being backed off?

Exact same scenario, though without the verbal comments - lots if evil eyed glaring

Heat is when you suddenly are surrounded and threatened by casino goons(both suited and not) who block your every move. And all the while they are hoping or maybe wishing you would bump one of them so they have reason/excuse to toss your ass to the floor and cuff you. And then not being allowed to leave. Yeah that's heat.

This is the worst possible option. If you have heat, never go to the cage. I would also say if you have any significant session that might generate heat (basically anything that might have attention from the eye), don't go to the cage, even if you never felt heat. You don't know who is watching, and once you put those chips on the counter, they have all of the leverage. I've made this mistake before and had a tribal casino try to take my chips without paying them, give me a receipt, and make me return at a later date to meet with someone to hopefully get paid. I managed to get paid before I got out the door, but it wasn't a pleasant situation, and it could have easily been avoided. Even if you're imagining things and the heat isn't real, there is no cost to you for skipping the cage except for a little time to return later in the trip to cash out.

Also, depending on the situation, even coloring up might be a bad move. If things are serious, time is of the essence. Grab the chips and get out. Giving them the chips to color you up just buys them more time to assemble the troops. Just take the chips and GTFO.

100% agree with Nyne. You will understand once you have a casino threatening to not cash your chips until you produce ID. Once they have your chips there is not much you can do, especially if on tribal land.

I have been backed off of a table before but it wasn't at blackjack, the pit boss pissed me off to shorten the story. I got a warning and I purposely stepped on her toes so to say. On a different occasion I have also been surrounded by goons before but again it was not at blackjack. That's what happens when you Bleed the house. It didn't take rocket science to figure out I was taking heat, on that note the house and their goons can go straight to hell! Bunch of idiots! In BJ the worst they have done is just call me out by name while cashing into a game. However this is just the beginning in BJ

If I had been sitting down I might have told the dealer to have a cup of STFU and keep dealing. Things would have gotten real ugly, real quick... besides for a severe tongue lashing for trying their intimidation tactics.

Years ago I was at a casino in a state that had a no barring policy and as luck would have it I had some phenomenal positive variance, doubling a bankroll in 3 months. I was playing there during the holiday season with two other players at the table and while the dealer was shuffling 3 suits walked up and began introducing themselves and shaking everybody's hand. When they got to me, before I could introduce myself, one of the suits with a nametag that said "Jack" said, "And Mo here is going to keep us from getting a bonus this year." I replied,"Don't worry, Jack, everybody's going to get a big bonus." Then I turned right around and slammed my chips in the betting circle and ignored the other two guys.

After that whenever I was playing on that shift Jack would appear, standing with his arms crossed giving me the hairy eyeball. I would smile and wave which usually resulted in his face turning as red as a firetruck. When the state law was changed to allow the barring of APs I quit going there until that casino was bought by another operation. Since then I've been playing there regularly with no problems, but I've been a lot more careful.

I had a casino dealer pick up the unplayed cards at the shuffle and give the a models turn in front of me after pen had suddenly go to sh*t. The place was cutting really thin before that. I understood the untold story, don't camp out too long if you happen to luck into uncrowded conditions. I never camped that long again and was always welcomed back... after a little break from the store. They were right that I had stayed too long. I just figured heads up and better than great pen, enjoy it while it lasts. Who knew it would last that many hours? Unfortunately, had I been successful I would have been gone long before the cards were turned, but I wasn't. It was a costly lesson in more than 1 way. Laying low cost more EV than camping cost in a big loss.

Ok, I don't remember if it was early last year or late 2012, but there was one store I liked to play several miles south of the strip. A nice place, had good blackjack at one time, but everything including the once fine buffet has deteriorated in the last couple years.

So there was this small, short, thin fellow, I refer to him as 'Tiny Tim' for no apparent reason <-. Now I am not sure if Tiny Tim, was a counter catcher or a consultant or exactly what his title and responsibilities were, but he was both in and out of the pit, sometimes watching games from behind players. He moved around a lot. A figgity type fellow. I always made it a point to see if Tiny Tim was around and keep track of his whereabouts. So this one day, I am playing and the pit guy who had always been friendly to me, was all of the sudden not very friendly. Or maybe my imagination. Anyway, after experiencing a shoe with high count, I exit at the shuffle. As I get up to walk, there is Tiny Tim. Didn't say a word, just standing behind me with his arms folded. I think I brushed him as I walked by.

So, I go to the snack bar to grab a quick bite and as I am seated eating, Tiny Tim approaches and sits at the table next o me. His name tag now removed, this fellow who I have been aware of for months, wants to play the part of a patron, and engage in small chit chat, as if I don't know who he is. LOL. So eventually he departs. I played some video poker and greedily wanted to try to get in one more BJ session, now that pit and dealers had changed shifts. So I approached the pit, looking around, for any sign of Tiny Tim. I didn't see him. Kept an eye out, while pretending interest in a new double wheeled roulette game that they were trying out at the time. No sign of Tiny Tim. I was about to head to the BJ table, when a voice from behind asks if I am going to try the new roulette game. I turn and yes, there is Tiny Tim. Sneaky little fella. They need to put a bell on him or something. I headed for the door not getting in my final session.

Great stories guys! I've only been to one of the stores in my area once so far this year but when I went to play DD the next morning, the pit boss who was eyeballing me the night before suddenly walked up to the table and took down the $10-$200 sign and put up the $5-$100 sign. If that's not "we don't want your action" then I don't know what is!

How much were you betting? If you weren't regularly exceeding $100, it may have been a courtesy.
