    Bad games on the strip

I just came back from a trip to Las Vegas Strip and I was shocked at
the bad games offered. I walked into Bellagio and all the lower limit
games started with one deck in the discard tray! The dealer told me that
only high limit games start with burning just one card.
I've never seen such a thing!

Limits are raised everywhere and rules are getting worse.
i didn't have a chance to goto MGM.
does anyone know if this is true there as well or did I just get unlucky
    with my choice of casinos?

Just add one full deck back when you calculate TC. It is very stupid of casinos to think it will distort the value of TC.

    Really?
but I don't know if that deck was face card rich or not.
Wouldn't this affect accuracy toward the end of the shoe?

Does nothing to distort value of tc, but if they are cutting the shoe another deck after the burn deck it is unplayable.

Okay. I thought about it, that makes sense.
It's like having bad penetration, right?

If originally it was 2 decks cutoff and now it is 1 deck cutoff with the initial 1 deck discards, then the penetration is the same (75%).

I think it used to be about 1-1.5 deck cutoff.
2 deck cutoff is really bad, isn't it?
does anyone know good places on the strip and downtown to play with low limits?
I've played at El Cortez, which has excellent games but I went to the D and they had dancers
and higher limits with terrible rules. Nothing against the dancers, but they usually mean terrible rules.
I prefer the strip, but I don't mind going downtown.

my budget only allows $5-10 dollar games.
my goal is to average 300-500 a trip.
You all probably think this is laughable amount.
    i don't live that far.

CBJN shows only 2D and 6D at the place with the fountains. Last month they did not burn a deck on the $25 6D games.

Yeah, but El Cortez sweats 4x red chippers. Speaking of "laughable," think about getting backed off for $5-$20. The El Cortez isn't exactly nice about it either as many here can attest to. If they're so MFing worried and still want to be the only 3:2 single deck in LV, change their DD rule to 10 or 11 only.

I was at Water World in early December and didn't see that...maybe it's new. Was it all low limit tables? Note...Mirage low limits are generally 6:5 games...misearble. If you playing $5-$10 you can find reasonable games, maybe not the best, e.g. MGM...but you still need to shop. Generally, on the strip it takes $25 to get best rules from my experience. Again, just one guy's experience....As Zach ref'd , get a copy of CBJN.

    Last Sunday, at $10
-$15 tables, at "place with the fountains" 6:30am, they burned one deck.
it may have been just that shift, I don't know.
i cannot afford to play $25 tables.

yes, el Cortz, you can't play very long although I really like the place.
the pit boss stood there with their arms crossed, stared straight at my face at
TC +10. I chickened out and bet more modestly than I should have.

so I was looking for othe places downtown to play..
