[QUOTE=hitthat16;121124] be careful with splitting profits 50-50. A lot of double downs, while still very advantageous, profit less than 50% on the money.
I don't get this comment. Why would you ever double down if you don't have + E.V.?
You still have plus EV. For example, you might have a double down with a 30% advantage. For every $100 bet, you leave with $130 on average in the long run. But if you give up $50 every time you profit, what's gonna happen? You're giving away your advantage and then some.
I love the 3-Card poker side bet. I like using a gamblers own greed against themselves while turning the proposition into favoring me. Win Win with nothing at risk. I'll rent my 3-card poker spot out like a 0.05 cent whore on nickel night. If other players are making that bet and they see that your not, and your spot hits a few times it will send them into a frenzy which can keep you in the game longer waiting for the deck to turn, add to a win, or softens a loss if a 3 card poker hand is made. On top of that you get to control the payoff, it's all about the control.

Nicely said - especially at your regular handouts where you know your table mates. I've lent out a $1000 for a high stakes player double down, with absolutely no concerns - the fellow offering a $100 tip which I refused to accept (ulterior motives). The same fellow has lent me several hundred in chips so I wouldn't have to go in my pocket - also for doubles splits etc. I've also cashed checks for specific fellows who I know well - never a problem. Got stiffed once for $10 and another time for $100.00. Just last week, playing with 1 other, a very reliable fellow went all in, had a double and asked if I would wait while he went out to the cash machine. My spidey sense was not tingling, so I simply lent him a couple of black chips - which also kept the game moving.
