What's the a advantage to this game? Less variance?
Not quite. 6/5 BJs is worth 1.39% to the house while the 'Push 22' is worth 6.91% to the house so on a like for like basis the 6/5 BJ's are clearly better.
However, I was comparing the 6/5 Blackjack game with regular rules, to the 'Push 22' games that have other preferential rules for the player. 'Blackjack Switch' at 0.58% is far lower than any 6/5 game and is even lower than some regular 3/2 games.
The main difference between 6/5 and 'Push 22' is that one rule was added to increase house edge while the other was added as a necessity to allow for other player-favorable rules.
You can count it with whatever count you use for regular blackjack. The main thing is learning the new basic strategy. Which is mostly just split or double on everything you can and play the 'free hand' more aggressively. The reason being a push on the free hand is just as bad as a loss so go nuts.
The difference, from what I remember on the BS for this game is always split, always double 9,10,11, and play the free-split hand a bit more aggressively (ie: hit hard17v7).
