Question for you, Zen... and all the other Tarzan supporters too.

Since it seems like you guys have learned & understand Tarzan's methods already (since you know him, you've seen it in action, and you're speaking authoritatively on it here together with Tarzan himself) are you guys ALL now actually USING the Tarzan Count yourself in your own regular blackjack play?

Or are you guys still learning too, and just practicing to get to Tarzan's skill level before you actually put it into action? If so, how long have you been practicing already, and where do you feel like you are in the process of mastering it up to Tarzan's level?

And... depending on each of your own personal skill level & experience with other normal counting methods, what might this say about the "average" card counter's likely ability to actually be able to do what Tarzan does?

Don't get me wrong: I am still very interested in learning this even just as an academic exercise. But trying to figure out whether an OLD DOG like me could really learn a NEW TRICK like this...

Didn't KJ move away from the area Tarzan plays because he had burned his longevity in half the time Tarzan has been playing? So KJ can win the same amount< almost in 5 years and be done and Tarzan can play until the grave. From someone with a limited number of casinos to choose from I know which method wins out for my tastes. Others may have no problem moving around the country to play games they haven't burnt or even pulling up their roots to move across the country but not everyone is comfortable doing that.

T my knowledge Tarzan is the only practitioner. He offered to teach me but I thought it was beyond my ability. I have since then trained my brain to due an uber count that only I use that is on the same order of difficulty. It was not an easy feat but I know now that I could have trained myself to do the Tarzan count if Tarzan would teach me the index plays and other subtleties. That might be the part that would stymie me. My memory really is BAD. I can memorize a hundred or so indices pretty quick but the amount of memorization to use Tarzan's count is orders of magnitude more. That would take years of repetition to get down.

If I was half my age or less, methinks I'd endeavor to invest

    the requisite efforts to master the Tarzan Count;

I am but a collaborator and strident booster for the Tarzan Count.

Another thought: if Tarzan's method is really so valuable, but so difficult for ordinary mortals to do solo, perhaps the mental labor for it could be divided between two (or more?) people?

I've never done something like this myself, but I recall reading about a certain type of team attack where very advanced counts are implemented with a full table of collaborating players, each person keeping track of only certain cards, and the whole group 'signaling' bets & playing decisions to each other based on the composition of the remaining cards.

As they say, y'know... "Two Heads Are Better Than One"

Perhaps Tarzan could include a "team play ideas" chapter in the forthcoming book...?

The main thing to keep in mind is that being highly proficient in a balanced count is the prerequisite jumping off point into the world of most advanced and highly lucrative AP plays. I believe the two most fearsome GUNSLINGERS in the game today, MAZ, and BOJACK, would agree with that.

    Peace and happy holidays,

this thread is getting kind of nuts. Enough is enough. If you find a way to get money in life that your comfy with, keep doing what your doing. Never stop learning. Always realize there is stuff you don't know and you can always be taught and learn something from everyone. Be nice, don't f*&k anyone, don't lie, be generous and you will probably be successful with anything you do in life if you are a hard worker.

Not knocking anyone but the best count is the count you are currently using. Using a higher level count is probably the least important thing when trying to take money out of the casino, just my 2 cents.

Not knocking ya either, but isn't that kind of contradictory to what you just said about "never stop learning" ?

IMHO this Tarzan Count -- if it pans out -- is much MORE than just a complex new counting system.

I'm particularly intrigued by the "weird index plays" it might enable, as far as those would go towards helping the casinos think my play is "idiotic" rather than high-skill (especially stuff like that double on hard twelve kinda thing!)

Heh, well Great Minds Think Alike then, eh?

Srsly, anything new & unique that could help a small, nimble TEAM to attack and get the money with less *variance* needing to be endured in the process, hope hope, is right up my alley...

there is a very good reason why pretty much every succesful team uses hilo. A count such as this not only will never help your team, it will destroy it.

bjarg, I know that... but I'm not thinking of this for the usual 'large team' type thing.

More along the lines of a two or three-man, ninja-attack type "special ops" crew.

THIS is a more complex count, obviously, and what we're actually doing with our 'usual team' (large group) is vastly simplified overall, i.e. the point you were trying to make, I agree.

But there's no reason why both approaches couldn't be complimentary, with the right people working them...

I don't know if we run in different circles but the teams I know that are highly successful don't use HILO and aren't well known because they fly under the radar. I guess if your team gets busted everywhere it goes it gets a famous name. If not they take 7 figures over time in a region without being noticed by reduced exposure and increased longevity. It is always funny when they chase off the low level counter and roll out the red carpet for your team member at the same table even though the low level counter has hardly won a thing and your team mate crushed them.

You make me laugh. You are so clueless... Whats funny is how some people here take you to be an expert and knowleadgeable player. Sometimes I wonder if you actually ever play at all.

What count do the teams "you know" use? How many people play on those teams? Whats their turnover? How do they reclute and train new players?

Reduced exposure and increased longevity? By using a high level count? You think you using a level 3 count means you crush games hilo players dont? You are so delusional. You want to talk about increased longevity or crushing games most players cant? Then talk about shuffle tracking or sequencing teams. Of course you cant because you dont know the first thing about it.

and please dont start making up stories about succesful 30 men teams only you know that use hiopt ii and make millions. You are so full of sh** its not even funny.
