    story about advantage play

I once read a newspaper story that a jockey and a couple of criminals were convicted for fixing a horse race. The fixers paid the jockey big bucks for him to make sure the odds on favorite finished out of the money or no better than 3rd. There are a lot of ways a jockey can do this but of course it's all on video so it's difficult to do it undetected. Anyway, the jockey did his job well (except that he got caught) and his horse was out of the money. The fixers bet big on an exacta box on the next 3 best horses. But there were 8 horses in the race and 2 of the three better horses had a bad day and finished up the track. So the fixers lost big even though they fixed the race. And went to jail on top of it.

That's not a store about advantage play. It's a story about cheating.
