No, they actually take you to the back room and beat the living day lights out of you. Haha, this is usually how it happens. I don't think one has ever pulled me to the side and talked to me like this. Usually they say they don't want to take your action and you can play any other game. I don't want to have a conversation with them like this, as they might remember you.

I always find it hilarious how nervous and uncomfortable the pit boss was when backing him off LOL. All the questions by colin were great, but I still wished he made the pit boss admit without counting in general its a losing game, notwithstanding other AP techniques of course.

The only saving grace for Colin was that he purposely wanted to get backed off. Under normal circumstances, his manner would have been ridiculous to the extreme. This is a classic example of what not to do during the back off. Further, the pit boss patiently explaining the flat bet routine was a fairy tale. Not in a million years would you have that patient sit down explanation of what you can and can't do.

My conclusion is that this was a staged choreographed event, with no semblance of reality, and is a total disservice to AP's in general and newbies in particular.

Freightman, colin mentioned he was doing it on purpose. On the other hand the pit boss, i dont believe was in on all of this, i believe it was a real life scenario with colin purposely trying to get backed off as he mentioned. But you are right in general, pit bosses won't sit you down and tell you what you can and cannot do, but I wouldn't downplay it entirely. There are some friendly pit bosses out there and once when i got backed off, the pit didnt sit me down but he did give me a small lecture, so I wouldnt downplay this whole video as staged.

It would be interesting to see how many of us have had a 5 minute sit down with the critter explaining why we were flat bet. It''s never happened to me - in fact - never been backed iff by the pit - someone was always called in - short and sweet - usually polite.

Perhaps it was in AC. They can't actually stop you from playing but they can bet restrict you (flat bet you) and half shoe you. To do this they must explain what you can and can't do.

good point, but im sure there are other pit bosses that arent complete *******s and just tell you to leave, and i can also imagine there are some pit bosses who will do what the one in the video did and let you keep playing and flat bet you, etc. If i was colin I would be like ok flat bet me, and just wong like hell with a two handed bet size of 2x500 LOL

I once had a pit boss back me off in a respectful manner. Counting was never mentioned, just your typical "strong blackjack play". He mentioned he used to be a player himself and we talked about various games offered in that area (this store had one of the better games unfortunately). In the end he told me how and why he decided to back me off although the info was not terribly valuable and agreed not to flyer me as long as he didn't see me again at that particular store.

Hard to pull off when $200 is the max bet.
