    Competition is good for APs

Competition forces AC casinos to compete harder for gamblers' dollars

First Borgata offers 6:5 double deck games. Recently another AC counter-offers 3:2 double deck games. I was hoping for 3:2 single deck games next, but for the time being... the 3:2 pitch games will do.

    The 3:2 pitch games:

Umm, not sure if you're aware Adrianno, but that link goes to a topic on Wong's BJ21 site in their "Green Chip" area, which is their paid subscription-only forum, and fairly likely to be inaccessible to a lot of people here on the FREE section of Norm's site.

If you want to discuss this here, better just recreate a new topic with similar info.

When NY casinos open up AC is in deep doo-doo. It could have survived losing a good chunk of the PA market, but not both PA and NY. I have no idea how that town is going to survive in the long run. I could see Borgata and Harrah's becoming like the LV Strip (higher limits) and the Boardwalk becoming like Downtown Vegas (all lower limit).

Re: competition, too much of the market is owned by one company (Caesars). They own Showboat, Claridge, Bally's, Caesars, and Harrah's which combined have a very significant percentage of the market. Still way too much group-think in AC casino management. Steve Wynn buying Revel or ACH would possibly shake up the market though.

AC really only has action from 10pm Friday to 3pm sunday on the weekend. And really only 3 casinos are semi busy and that's pushing it with Borgata basically getting all the action.

    I don't have bj21 membership but I'm guessing it's like 1.1 decks cut off h17 d10 100 min one floor per table.

I predict there will be some reorganizations. Those casinos are worth 1/10 what they were before the competition opened up.

What a coincidence! Borg and GN have offered the double deck games, and they are the 2 casinos which popped up their blackjack winning by 70% & 23%!

On the other hand, Trop offers no 2deckers, but it does offer the loosest hand shuffles----which bait in big whales---as a result Trop popped up its blackjack winning by 68%.

Why did Taj also pop up its blackjack winning by 13% while all other casinos dropped their bj winnings between -10 to -61%? Perhaps Taj gets bad games, but it gets more conventioneers and suckers :-)

Look at their last craps earnings. It wiped out all their table games profit. Must have had some insane hot rolls with big bettors at the table. They lost $3,594,725 in the month of October to their craps players. That made their casino floor table games (without the carny games) in the red $780,395 for October. The Poker rake brought the entire table games loss up to $588,713. Losing over half the drop to the players at craps is not your desired result. More typically 20% of the drop as profit is much more like expectation.

first off.. look at the shuffles at Tropicana.. they plug and re plug the discards so many time sit makes you sick. I am not trying to hide anything and anyone can go look for themselves. But I don't know why you feel the need to talk about shuffles on opening forums whether there good or bad, no good can come from it. Trop sweats any kind of action even though they have have huge limits in high limit. Go try spreading 1-20 in there high limit room and whatch how quick they are to half shoe.
