    Beyond counting - Different versions

    Hi,

I am interested in getting a copy of Beyond Counting: Exhibit CAA by James Grosjean. I found 2 versions of this book:

    1. RGE Publishing: "Beyond Counting : Exploiting Casino Games from Blackjack to Video Poker"
    2. Southside advantage press LLC: "Beyond Counting: Exhibit CAA"

It seems Southside advantage press version has more pages than RGE Publishing, but the content looks similar. Can someone please shed some light on this? Any input is apprecaited.

BTW, I am interested in this book. If anyone have a copy for sale, please let me know.

    Raybabyray,

To elaborate on Hsiaodi's reply, the RGE book was published in 2000 with a price tag of $40, while the SSAP book, published in 2007 with a price tag of $250 and available only from Grosjean himself, includes the vast majority of the material in the RGE book along with a great deal of additional information.

The good news is that both are available! I saw a listing for the RGE book at Abe Books:

    https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Boo...msrpdesc-_-bdp

for only $1,722.97, but they charge $2 for shipping... What a ripoff!

The SSAP edition is on eBay:

    https://www.ebay.com/p/78669206

for the guaranteed low price of $9,100, but with FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING! What a deal!

A word of warning: someone wrote "Detailed notes Beyond Counting Exhibit CAA 2009 and Hole Carding instruction DVD", which can be found in eBay for $97. This is NOT Grosjean's book, so don't be fooled.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks Dog Hand.

I’m going to wait for a cheaper copy of SSAP book.

I’ve seen it for ~2K in the past. A word of caution, there was a seller from UK who was selling pirated copies of the book. The font on the cover is a little different. The paper is different, too “bright” for a 10+ year old book. I believe the content is right, perhaps that’s all that matters.

I just hate the thought to pay for 10x more than original and still getting a dud.

If you read the posts here, you will find that there is a PDF version of this book circulating among APs. Why bother spending $300.

The person circulating that PDF is banned for life here. Do not suggest that people violate copyright. James owns the rights to that text and it is his choice how his hard work is circulated. And, AP is defined as "legal" advantage play. Someone with a pirated copy is not an AP by definition.

That is right. We should respect the author.

Just FYI Doghand and others: The Ebay listing is a pirated version. Someone forked over some money to print out hardcover copies of CAA. The differences are small, but noticeable. Here's a link to my first post on BJTF for more information: https://www.blackjacktheforum.com/sh...ight=mikejones

Norm - Isn't it time to ban this asshole for life, too?
