"Ask Me anything" from a former surveillance guy

Reddit has this section called Ask Me Anything. Here is one set up from a former surveillance guy.

Interesting, the amount of misinformation is astounding, but there are a few nuggets in there.

Yes, I did. I thought that was enough reason to quit, lol. I read through most of it, there is a lot of garbage but some interesting stories and some insight. It was good to know that most casinos still use the analog recording devices. I have heard that from other sources but didn't know if it was accurate.

    Thanks for the link.

That's $16.0000 per hour, which is roughly $32,000 annual. Not much better.

There was some interesting information in there and although procedures are going to vary from establishment to establishment it gave you an idea of how some things work on the other side of the felt.

Agreed. Surveillance guys are great. At this point in my carreer, I am learning more from surveillance guys that anyone else. I have casual acquaintance relationships with a couple online, and have one surveillance guy personal friend. I've had him to my home for a barbeque. I cherish each opportunity to have discussions with these folks, pick there brains a bit and hear how they think.

Sometimes they say things that contradict one another. But there are some ideas that they all seem to share. These are the biggies. These are the things that are 'gospel'. Thinks that the industry as a whole seems to believe and think. Without getting into specifics, these are the things that you can really use. You tailor your game around avoiding these issues.

I believe $16 an hour for a bottom-rung surveillance worker is actually high.
