A profound statement and one I think would ring true for many - possibly not for those dedicated APers who make, or significantly subsidise, a living from it. For the amateurs and recreational players though, I think what can start out as an interesting distraction or hobby can become a bit of an obsession and take up valuable time that could be directed at other, more positive things such as family, friends, cultural pursuits, personal health, sports participation, education, personal development yada yada yada.
Generally, I don't think gambling is in anyway a positive endeavour, although if you pursue the AP angle there are definitely some benefits to be had from all of the study and skills you have to master. Saying that then, I'd be very surprised if it's been a complete waste of your time and energy? What do you think?
