    I've given up gambling

Maybe I'll come back to it in a few months, or a couple of years. Or just as likely not. Given the other things I could have been doing with my life, it's basically been a huge waste of my time. That is all.

    Hi WRX

What have you decided to do with all of the free time you're going to have?

    My advice is:
Don't gumble in order to live from this. Though not possible you make money from this you will never be safe to make any investment in your personal life while you still gumble. If you really like gumbling do it as entertainment but don't give your money just for fun. Learn how to beat the game (play as a pro) and try to take the odds in your turn.
I was in your position once and I took the wise decision to quit gumbling and do something worthwhile in my life. Now I don't play 6 hours per day gumbling making impossible dreams of creating a fortune from this. Now I know very good the rules and how to beat the blackjack game and l I play very rare instead of watching tv. If I win some money I am grateful and I have a free drink at night just this.

WRX probably has a family that need his attention, sick of the casino BShi# and poor games, sick of fighting other players and rude, omagon dealers. (Not to mention CTR BS, and the fear of bringing home BB after staying in casino hotel rooms).

    Best to you WRX.

    WRX,

Good luck in your future endeavors. I've sometimes pondered if my time/energy/focus etc would be better spent outside of AP; however part-timing has been successful enough to keep me going.

I wish you the best. You know where to find us.

WRX - Your posts have been very insightful. Good luck to you. BTW, ran into someone recently who you've played with.

    WRX,

I don't post much but read a lot of posts. You're one of the contributors here whose opinion I value.

    Good luck to you.

Do what you gotta do, but you will be missed. I enjoyed trading info with you and found much value in your contributions. Best of luck in pursuing those other things, whatever they may be.

    Take 'er easy, WRX...

Not sure if you were full-time pro or not... and as I posted elsewhere certainly can understand quitting if it's gotten to ya too much. It ain't easy. IMHO all of this stuff is really much better suited to being only part time, non pro, only a nice extra-income hobby vs full time profession (but again hat's off to you guys who CAN pull it off...)

Here's hoping whatever else you engage in to fill your time yields better +EV to your life... take care.

    WRX,
What caused it? Where did it go wrong. Perhaps it's just burnout, and a nice 2 to 4 week break will help clear things up. Or did you have a bad barring?

It's only a short time ago that I thought I would soon retire from my business and do a lot of APing but I'm rapidly changing my mind for just these very reasons. As long as I have decent health, I now feel that I'm probably better off keeping the same MO as now. That is, staying in a fairly lucrative and (for the most part) enjoyable business and doing the AP thing on a part time basis.
I've seen enough to know that full time play would be a brutal livelihood!

Best of luck, learnt a lot from you over the years.
"One of these days in your travels, you are going to come across a guy with a nice brand new deck of cards, and this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the Jack of Spades jump out of the deck and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not take this bet, for if you do, as sure as you are standing there, you are going to end up with an ear full of cider."
