    Best month in 1.8 years

Sept's win came in at just under $10K with only 13 hours of play. Way beyond EV. Since going to small stakes, this is my best month in 1.8 years. However as I've posted before, this just helps cushion the long periods of time when you're breaking even or losing. Just a guess but this looks like it's approaching 3 SDs.
Starting in Jan. of 2012, I now stand at $26K with 250 hours (est.) played.

Good job, George. You are so right about that sentiment concerning the long periods of losing or breaking even. I know you know this, but I really think this concept of all the different periods, short periods of big wins, far above expectation, huge losses, smaller wins and losses and long, long periods of of breaking even or just going no where, all coming together to form the 'long run' throws many players. The huge win periods are easy to handle, but they are just one of many 'normal' parts. Those months, and I am talking tens of thousands of rounds of losing or going nowhere, is something else. Took me a long while to really get comfortable with this.

I myself am having a very good year as a whole, but my entire years win occurred in a short five week period. For the entire rest of the year, I am slightly in the red. A real 'stuck in the mud, spinning your wheels' feeling. You have to always try to remain focused on the totality or the long term results.

I recently shifted my chip color and spread upward: and of course have had record breaking wins and losses; but was at my all time high Saturday. I remember feeling as if casinos had just become my personal reliable ATM machines. And yesterday lost $2,616. Alright. so that's that whole variance thing they were talking about. Being way up affects us counters with the same euphoria that any player has; it's that euphoria that generates all of the revenue for the casinos in the first place.
Also, it's much harder being the biggest better at the table over and over; suddenly I'm the man, the player who's winning or losing the biggest: more pressure on the act.
