To think that the results of an event determines whether or not it was a good decision means you're a little bit crazy, although it's a very mild sort of crazy that most recreational gamblers suffer from.

Who said it was a good decision? I laid out my plan but never said it was a good idea. It was a risk I was willing to take. Isn't that what gambling is all about?

Yes but it is not what advantage play is all about.

I think my play is advantageous. I use correct basic BJ strategy with the exception of splitting 8's vs an ace or 10. I use a consistently profitable "bet on the streaks" strategy. And lastly, I rack up tons of comp points and other perks.

This is the only thing in your list that qualifies as an advantage play. The value of the perks must exceed the -EV you invested in them to really be called advantage play. Advantage play doesn't mean advantageous, it means having an advantage over the casino. Most people play with a casino edge to overcome. The advantage player has a player edge to capitalize on (they have the advantage and the casino is trying to overcome that). Progressions and betting systems only increase the loss rate for the player. Bet on streaks is a classic in this group of how to increase long run loss rate. You never change the house advantage and expect to lose that percentage of your total bet. If you increase your bets your average bet goes up and this causes your loss rate to go up. Basic strategy just reduces the house edge to what it is listed at. The HE is for a player playing perfect basic strategy. Departures from basic strategy like not splitting eights against a T or A when not related to deck composition increase this house edge.

Call the phone number posted early in this thread (I think Norm's post, #2). You'll figure out why you need help sooner or later.

Love this thread! I wish you had contacted me. I would have loved to just stop by to watch you play!

What was your top end bet? Did you really do table max at times, $5k? I assume you were in the high limit areas since your spread was so wide. So, $100 to $x,000?

Two weekends ago I watched a guy at a reserved table progessive bet purple chips getting up to 2x$5k a hand. He was chipping up $1k a hand win or lose. He only played a half a shoe or less when he had to split twos. He got two weak hands, doubled on one and lost it all! $15k! Truly disadvantage play! He slammed the table and walked off! It was entertaining to watch, but it made me sick at the same time!

Nope, I don't play in the high limits sections. I play either by the sky valet ($5 min, H17) or by the main sky entrance ($10-$25 min, S17). I don't like the high limit tables because the minimum is too high for me. My bet is typically the minimum which for me, since I was usually grandfathered in from when the tables first opened, ranged from $5-$15 to $100-$1000. Usually after winning a hand I'd then bet 200-300. That was the norm but when I was really hot I'd go as high as 500-1000 but that was pretty rare.

My highest bet was the table max of $1,000 on the tables I was playing. I only played that much a handful of times through the course of the entire weekend. I remember doubling down a 1K hand with a 10 or an 11 vs a 6 and losing 2K. That one definitely stung!

This isn't directed at you but I love all the people here who purport to be BJ experts but in the end the game really is just about luck and how the cards fall. Sure you can improve your chances slightly by counting cards but it's still all about luck.

Betting like that because you won a $15 bet is just Cray Cray. Oops forgot the z's. But then you took the z's out of Crazy.

My bank account says otherwise; that it's a safe, sound and sane technique.
