    Business Opportunity

Firstly, I understand this is probably not the right sub-forum to post this, but since Im guessing few of the regular posters check the other ones, I thought Id start here. If you mods feel this needs to be moved, so be it.

I'll try to make it short. I'm starting a new business developing apps for tablets specially designed to be used in events (I dont really know how you call them over there, seminars, conferences, expos, etc). The company is specializing in the development of games and data collection for companies to do actions on those type of events. We are developing some really cool things and already marketing the products in 2 countries with great success.

What Im looking is for somebody to take this business to Vegas as an independant partner, sort of speak. So if anybody is living in Vegas and is interested in a business opportunity other than casinos, feel free to PM me so we can start talking.

If you live in another US city and feel like theres a market for this sort of products there and would like to give it a shot Im all ears.

    NOTES:

    1) No money will be required from you or anything like that. You wont have to put a dime. Ill provide everything thats needed to market the product. The rest will be up to you.

    2) This is not a fixed job offer. You wont be working for me or anything like that. Youll own a sort of "franchise" of my company there and youll be free to manage business as you best see fit. So just to be clear, this is not a 9 to 5 job offer. Is an opportunity to start an independant business.

If anyones up for it we can start talking through PM and Ill expand on the details.

    Thanks.

I like this opportunity. Not for myself, but for others.

I assume that there will be a profit-sharing arrangement, else you will just be giving away your intellectual property for nothing.

You might want to spell out, in broad strokes, how the franchisee will be compensated. [This way you don't have to explain to 50 people PM'ing you about it.]

Also you might want to spell out how the franchisees will be segregated, e.g. you don't want most of your 50 people on the Strip, and few in downtown Vegas or L.A.

    Good Luck!

Handicapping is EXTREMELY hard! All statistical evidence (and game insights) may indicate strongly a specific outcome, winner, or continuing trend; but a turn-over, a missed field goal, an erroneous call, a key injury, etc. can easily change the outcome, the margins, and/or the totals. Division rivalry games and games with playoff implications are highly unpredictable.

    Ok those are good questions.

    1) there wont be a profit sharing arrangement. Its simpler than that. All products already have a price (very cheap in US dollars). Itll be up to the person marketing the product to see at what price they can market them and keep ALL the profits. For example, lets say theres a product that costs 3000 usd. If you go out an sell it at 6000 you would make 3000. I wont care at what price you are selling it. So lets say you find an opportunity with a big money client to which you could charge double that, you would make double the money. Of course the price will be a reasonable one for you to be able to charge a big plus to it and still be way below any potential US competitor. The key here is that the product is being developed at very cheap cost in US dollars in a different country.

    2) franchises wont be seggregated, im just looking for one person in each city to work with.

If you have more questions, shoot. More than glad to answer them.

I think you've given a satisfactory answer to the most probable question in most people's minds about compensation.

Hopefully, your posting some details saved you some time from people PM'ing, just because they are curious about how it works.

I wish you the best of luck!

Be very careful, though. By choosing to work with only one person per city, you need to be highly particular in your selection process.

    Hey bjarg:

If you may be interested & available for other software development work, freelance etc... we need some help on small stuff from time to time, and I have a few ideas for bigger projects on the back burner that may ramp up in the future too.

A blackjack-and-AP-savvy developer would be helpful (obviously) for blackjack-related software I think. Save me the time of explaining basic things about the game and what we do

Ping me via email or on our Detroit Blackjack Team (.com) forum, if you have a login there. Or PM here... whatever's best for you, if you're interested.
