What do they write on those Clipboard

I would like to know what do those PC write on those clipboard anyway. I saw them wrote stuff down after people win some kind of bigger payout side bets.I saw them write stuff down when I win on BJ. Are they tracking the trips ?they have a computer on the side to do that. So what's the reason?

There's a few things they write down. For one, they write down your first bet as well as your average bet. I believe they also might write down your largest bet, or spread, or something along those lines, buy-in, etc.

They also write down how many chips are in the tray, how many chips people have, etc. So if someone hits a substantial "jackpot", then it's a good time for the PC to come over, check the tray, rate everyone, etc.

If a PC comes over with a clipboard and you have a max bet out and happen to get a blackjack....you might be wanting to head to the door...pretty quickly...

It could be anything really...but for the most part, they could be writing down how much fill is needed or how much cheques to pull off for credit. Also, part of their duty is to track the cheques in the rack. They could be writing down how much money is being dropped, your card information to pass to surv (high action, large buy in, spread, skills check, suspicious play) or another player's information simply because they left money on the table. A big payout on a side bet usuallly requires verification from surv, so they will need to write player's info (if rated) because surv will ask for it. Then you have marker issues/buybacks, rating slips, grocery list etc.

I asked because i do not see them write before and they just input something on the computer screen beside the table.Recently I see them doing a lot more with beatable games or games where you could get an advantage( maybe very small).

I expect my PCs to know their rack counts on all their games. Some of them have to take notes because they still have trouble adding up a three card 21. They could also be trying to gauge when they need to order a fill. It embarrasses the heck out of them to run out of chips.

PC is Pit Critter, no? Also known as a floorperson. Bossman is a Pit Boss (PB), I believe.

Could any US players confirm whether my terminology is correct?

They are just like doctor's charts and probably are writing that you are "difficult" thereby ensuring your blackjack future is compromised.

I refer to both floormen and pit bosses as pit critters.

Question for Bossman. First, thank you for the input. Do PCs ever have the authority to back off players with no call to surveillance? If so, they must have counting skills and the time to evaluate a player along with an acurate accountability of their decision.

That really depends upon local jurisdiction. Some places I guess they can. I would never encourage a floor to back anyone off without support unless something egregious happened on the game.

Empty suits aside, we still work together, 8X5X48, and most of us have for years. We rely on each other and are cautious. I prefer to be sure before we BO, since almost anybody with $100 to spend probably plays at least Basic Strategy. You've read some of my other posts.

Not all of my competitors have that acumen. Oops! Too much spread. You're out of here! And there went a million dollar player, out the door.

Remember, we make our living from repeat business, so backing off everybody that plays well would leave us with very few players, not likely to be able to support an entire casino operation.
I can't speak to operations that I've never worked in but when the old-timers start watching you in my joint, win, lose, or draw, go get something to eat and go home. If you're good, you can make it another day. If not, practice.
