    Don't overthink this. John Patrick has zero understanding of gambling logic or math. Indeed, he has been making fun of math for decades. I used to watch his TV show for humor value in the early 80s. His advice for Blackjack was exactly the same as his advice for Craps. Leave when you are ahead and you can't lose. He spent 14 years on TV taking calls and spewing the same answers to all questions.

    Sure, leaving only if you're up is sure to lock in a win and be profitable, but I don't want to die at the table waiting for that.
