The Blackjack Scam
Random googling got me to a common scam practiced in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia. Allegedly often by Philippinos (sorry if you are from that neck of the woods).
The elaborate scam involves a large crew who lure a rube to an unfamiliar location, then inveigle them in a "sure thing" betting swindle. The mark is first shown a cheaters trick then invited to cheat with the team at blackjack. As if by magic a rich player arrives and a game begins. The stakes rise and rise until, finally, the mark needs to ante a hunk of money to ensure totally cleaning out the supposed mark. Needless to say, the other blackjack player is part of the team and the adventurous tourist gets only a good story in return for his/her backpacking budget.
The scam revolves around a persuasive Blackjack technique. I've searched and searched but I can't find the trick that is taught to the victim of this scam.
Does anyone know what that the trick is?

FYI, I'm not planning to scam anyone, I'm just interested in this arcane piece of BJ lore ^^
