FLASH: query: Cacarulo / Don S.
In a thread below where I was discussing some seemingly odd S B A indices
C. said: "I think you should check the BJA3 EORs which are far better than the ones in TOB. ..."
I have looked in BJA 3rd edition and I cannot find 'Effects of Removal' noted in the index. Please refer me to the precise page.

Pp. 496-521, and "Effect of Removal" IS in the index! Your problem must be that you have only the hard-cover edition. The EORs were the major addition to the soft-cover version.

FLASH: Indeed !
I purchased all 3 editions of your brilliant tome; and YES I have the Hard Cover volume. As I have supported your creative / intellectual efforts I ask you to please . . .
1. Tell me what else I have missed in purchasing the Hard Cover Edition, and,
2. Please post here the missing data. If this in not plausible, please email me.

Here's the Preface to the third edition, softcover:
Third Edition ? Softcover
It?s been eight months since the publication of the hardcover edition of BJA3, and,
frankly, I couldn?t be more pleased with the excitement that the book has generated in
the blackjack community. I wrote, in my Preface to that third edition, that it ?contains
just about everything I know about the game of blackjack,? and intimated that there
might not be any further revisions of the book. But, there was a softcover version
of BJA3 in the offing, and I am pleased to announce that it contains a major addition
of historic proportions: a brand-new Appendix D, featuring completely revised and
expanded tables of effects of removal, for playing and betting, which improve on
the work of the legendary Peter Griffin. We have Zenfighter (more about him in the
appendix) and Cacarulo to thank for this monumental study, which I trust will be of
immense value to blackjack players and researchers everywhere.
The book you now hold in your hands is the most voluminous reference work on
casino 21 in existence, comprising 576 total pages and over 400 tables and charts.
Needless to say, its creation involved a prodigious amount of work, not only for the
author and his collaborators, but also for the publishers and proofreaders, who, once
again, have made a Herculean effort to get everything ?just right.? It would be hard
to describe the level of detail into which we all entered as we fine-tuned the text of the
hardcover BJA3, searching for the inevitable gremlins that are typos, omissions, and
stylistic inconsistencies. Doubtless, we haven?t found them all, but it is unquestionably
true that the present incarnation of BJA3 is the most accurate and most painstakingly
proofread version of them all, and I am extremely proud to sign my name to what is
perhaps the final edition of Blackjack Attack: Playing the Pros? Way. I hope that you
will enjoy it.

Sorry, not remotely plausible, with a ton of tables and charts added.

FLASH: VOLUNTEER NEEDED.
I hardly think that I can be expected to (re-)buy Blackjack Attack in order to get what I missed by buying the Hard Cover 3rd edition.
I had assumed, naturally enough, that the Hard Cover 3rd Edition would not be expurgated in any way. I would not be surprised if the paperback version, being less costly, had some material missing.
Will someone PLEASE earn some good karma and my undying graditude by providing me with a photocopy of "Appendix D, featuring completely revised and expanded tables of effects of removal, for playing and betting", from the PAPERBACK 3rd edition?
I will gladly reimburse for copy fees and postage.

It was sold here at a discount for thjose who already had the hardcover edition. Many, many hundreds were bought.

It wasn't. Every syllable from the hardcover is in the softcover. Then, the softcover added even more material.

Not a line. Why would I do that??

Unlikely to happen here, but you never know.

At which point you'll probably be less than $20 short of just buying the softcover and having it for yourself.
Obviously, you aren't a high roller. I understand.

Considerably less, since Bettie is offering 20% off on nearly all purchases made by the end of the month, which drops the price of the book to less than $20 (plus shipping), if my math is correct (and if it's not, I'm sure you'll let me know :-)).
Personally, I wouldn't dream of not having both the paperback and hardbound editions of the book. My hardbound edition stays pristine in its plastic wrapper, while the paperback is highlighted, dog-eared, has notes written in the margins, and is subjected to various other indignities.
In addition, the paperback edition takes up less room in my suitcase when I'm on the road.
