    Surfteq: Hitting 12 & 13...

    I Thoroughly enjoyed Don's Book/3rd Edition...

    Question :
    IF the Player Hit Bust Rate on 12 = 31% and 13 = 39%,
    and the Dealer Bust Rate on 4, 5, and 6 = 40% to 43%, WHY don't we Hit ALL 12's and 13's???...

    FWIW : I always HIT 12 (with Dealer 2,3,4,7,8,9,10,A), and 13 (with Dealer 2,3,7,8,9,10,A)...Thanx A Million!!!

    Thank you.

Where do these numbers come from? Bust rate against which dealer's upcards? You didn't find this in BJA3, did you??

    > and the Dealer Bust Rate on 4, 5, and 6 =

Because, often, you lose less by standing! See the Appendix A tables and make the comparisons yourself.

I take it you're not a counter. If you're attempting to play BS, then hitting 12 v. 4 is wrong.

    >and 13 (with Dealer 2,3,7,8,9,10,A)

    Wrong for 2 and 3.

Suggestion: Read Appendix B and learn proper basic strategy. You're not ready for the rest of BJA3, until you read and study a bit more.

Hi Don...some of my question was in reference to the I18, specifically 12/4 and 13/2 & 3 in low counts.

Sorry, but I didn't get that from your post. You said you "always" hit 12 v. 4 and 13 v. 2 and 3.
