Composition dependent (CD) indices are typically calculated for single deck since the variation in indices is greatest for this game. Wong (PBJ), however, published composition dependent indices for the four deck game.

As would be expected, composition dependent effects are greatly blunted at four decks, but, remarkably, remain distinguishable by integer indices (High-Low) for player 12 and 13 v dealer stiff.

Composition dependent indices, even in single deck, differ from traditional indices only very modestly for the large majority of hands. Significant CD variation for SD is, however, seen for player 16 v dealer 10, player 16 v dealer 9, player 12 and 13 v dealer stiff, and player 11 v dealer 10.

The above referenced composition dependent indices, as per tradition, were calculated for 2-card player hands only. I believe it has been demonstrated on this site that 3-card CD indices also show significant variation in the hand of 16 v 10 at the single deck level. A significant 3-card CD variation may also be present for 16 v 9 at the SD level, but that has not to date been examined.

The demonstrated presence of integer variation in certain CD indices at the four deck level suggests that examination of CD indices at the two deck level would be interesting. A very small number of these CD variations may be large enough that they actually merit utilization by the serious DD player.
