Table Max: Anybody familiar with bj-strat?
I ran this program and generated the index numbers for various card values, number of decks, and ace side count/no ace side count. How accurate are these numbers? The hi-lo numbers seem to differ from those found in _Professional_Blackjack_.
I was originally interested in finding out the index numbers for counting systems such as Green Fountain and Silver Fox which also count 7 and 9. I also wanted to see the difference that an ace side count would have on the index numbers for hi-lo and counts includeing 7 and 9. I ran it for 6 and 8 decks.

They are pretty good although they are rounded (neither floored nor truncated) and that's why you will find some discrepancies. Besides they are based on infinite-deck assumptions which are not good for generating single-deck indices. Anyway, I wouldn't take PB as the Bible for Hi-Lo either. So, if you want precise indices then you should go with Casino Verite or SBA.

Thanks. Where should I start looking for information so that I can write a program for myself to generate precise index numbers?

What are the best indices for Hi-Lo?

The ones that you get for your particular set of rules and penetration. You'll need as I said a good index generator. Also, with CV or SBA you can get Risk-Averse indices which are better than the standard EV-maximized ones.

I don't know for sure but I think there's some info on www.bjmath.com. I think you need first to write a good BJ simulator before attempting to write an index generator.

Cac
