    Mayo: Norm, about CVBJ indexes.

    Dear Norm Wattenberger,

The Casino Verit? Blackjack v.3 program generates slightly different indices for multi-deck than for

single-deck when using the Hi-Lo count. However, that is not the case when using AO2 or Hi-Opt II.

Are the Level 2 counts optimized for a specific number of decks?

CVData generates indexes. CV Bjlackjack does not. CVBJ uses indexes from the books (or that you enter or from CVData.) So each system varies according to its respective book.

I get it, thanks; but it seems you have improved on Wong's 1994 HiLo numbers in CVBJ3.

There are several sets of HiLo indexes. The '94 Basic HiLo numbers should be exactly the same as the book. Most of the other numbers come from the original version of Pro BJ.

    CVBJ3's '94 Basic HiLo s17, Multi-deck, agrees with the '94 edition of Pro BJ (8th printing), p.267. H17 and single-deck does not.

None of the other '94 Pro BJ index tables are in complete agreement with CVBJ3, and would it not be better to use the '94 numbers, rather than a 27-year old book?

Could it be that the differences are due to a different method of converting fractions to whole index numbers?
