Marlin: unbalanced zen vs omega 2
Hey Don, After reading your last book blackjack attack 3, I see that playing a 2 deck game with either the unbalanced zen or the advanced omega seems like the way to go. Can you enlighten me as to what teh real difference would be in real casino application? After e-mailing John Austen, he replied by saying that he uses the unbalanced zen. He says that it is a great count for both hand held games and 6 deck games. What do you think? I am currently using the hi-lo.
Thanks

I rarely disagree with what John says, and, of course, he is right: the UBZII is a great count, as the numbers in BJA3 show. AOII is also superb. It may be slightly harder to learn, though.
Good double-deck games are not all that easy to come by these days, and they tend to be watched more closely than shoe games. Some casinos put them in and then use them as counter traps, so be careful.
