Blackjack Black Knight: Advice on Adding Value to a Player
If I play BJ in the US and mostly in the Mecca for gambling, what areas should I look into to strengthen my game? Especially if easy to employ or learn.
My current player profile:
I use Wong Halves counting the halves and TC by truncating and by deck. My source was Wong's Professional BJ 1981 leather edition.
I use the BS for each type of game I play either S17, H17 or LS, multi deck or DD. My source is BJA3. If I were to make a mental error it would be to employ a S17 DAS strategy when inapropriate. I believe that to employ S17 when H17 is warranted is a minor error. I do practice religiously and think I err very rarely.
The indices I use are -1 to +6 truncated for S17 or H17, 4 decks from Wong's Pro. BJ 1981. I probably play about 80% 6 deck, 10% 8 deck and 10% 2 deck. A mental error here would be to again employ the S17 DAS indice when inapropriate. The modifications I use with the indices are:
1. I use the 2 card combination on 16 vs T.
2. I use the risk averse 10 vs 10 dbl on +6.
3. I do not split TT but may start to selectively.
4. I dbl 9 vs 2 on TR1 to blend h17 and s17.
I use ODP mostly as Mr. Perfect and other times WI WO.
I play one hand when alone, 2 hands with other players.
I can slug track but rarely use it. I play mostly shoes and some DD.
My bankroll management. I try to have a very low ROR while maximizing EV. So I try to resize frequently about every time I play or if a very large movement in my bank. I mostly resize if my bank moves from around 10% to 25%.
Betting style. Sometimes flatter then others. I bet what I think I can get away with while keeping my ROR very low.
I am working on watching multiple tables simultaneously. I can do 2 tables fairly deep and can do several for the first round or so.
If I would pick for myself where to improve:
1. Strengthen ability to watch multiple tables.
2. Hole carding.
3. Game selection both between places and within a place.
4. All components of camoflauge.
Any recomendations? Thnx in advance

There have been some good books written since then! :-)

Ah, that's good! ;-)

Don't worry about it.

Probably not such a good idea. Strongly suggest p. 213 of BJA3. And, floor everything; don't truncate.

Why would you do that, instead of using the count of zero, which is one of your numbers???

OK.

Bad idea. Leave it as is.

It already is +1 for S17.

Fun to see these names used in "mainstream."

Fine. But, you could also play two when alone; it doesn't matter. Just bet 150% of your one-hand wagers on the two hands combined.

Don't try to get too fancy.

Don't we all. :-)

Too frequent. And not necessary. I'd wait for at least 50%.

Don't give away too much.

Good for you!

Sounds like you're doing reasonably well. Floor the TCs, learn the I18 and Fab4, spread at least 1-15 in shoes, and keep your sessions short. And forget the resizing stuff.
